I had high expectations for this ice cream and unfortunately my expectations were not met. The Hokkaido milk ice cream was pleasantly sweet and milky but very one note. The matcha ice cream was similarly bland with a very mild matcha flavor. The mochi balls were absolutely not worth it, flavorless with a mid texture. The mochi balls also quickly became hard in the areas where they were in contact with the ice cream. I’m pretty sure these are the store bought frozen mochi. The warabimochi was not warabimochi. It was far too firm and gelatinous and not delicate and melt in your mouth as it should be.
The crème brûlée milk ice cream had this weird brown ?sugar? Layer on top the milk ice cream but the top layer of sugar that was supposed to be brûléed was thin and did not cover the entire surface of the ice cream.
Overall the quality of the ice cream did not meet expectations and did not merit the cost. If you want good matcha ice cream I’d head over to Rowland Heights or SVG.
Parking is as expected for LA which is busy but you can find something if you’re patient. There is street parking and there is a larger parking lot behind the store though it’s generally busy as expected for a weekend...

But the way the employee handled it was not. She didn’t make any eye contact, barely spoke above a whisper, and made it feel like my friend was being completely ignored. It was uncomfortable to witness. We didn’t catch her name, but she had blonde hair and blue eyes.
Honestly, if your job is just serving ice cream from a machine, the bare minimum is to treat people with basic respect and attention. A little friendliness and eye contact go a long way. It’s weird and off-putting to be treated like you’re a bother just for asking a simple question. Won’t be returning based on that interaction alone.
Old review: A++ Flavor!!! This is the first time I try Hokkaido Ice cream and it was the best ice cream I’ve ever had! The texture to me was soft and creamy. I usually feel terrible when I eat other kinds of ice cream specially with so many sweeteners involved but this Ice Cream made me feel good after eating it. Would definitely try again 💯

Read moreThis place has some great things going for it. Their regular ice cream is absolutely top-notch—creamy, flavorful, and consistently well-made. The soft serve is also delicious, but the cups are consistently under-filled, which can be disappointing. The extras, like chocolate and strawberry syrup, are given very sparingly. While the workers are happy to add more if you ask, it feels frustrating to have to request it after already paying extra.
As for their matcha latte, it often feels underwhelming. It doesn’t seem properly whisked, leaving it clumpy and lacking the rich, smooth taste I look for. I’ve ordered it several times, hoping for improvement, but the quality hasn’t changed.
That said, the workers are friendly, and the overall vibe is nice. With a little more attention to detail and training, this spot could...
