My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at UO Nigiri this past Saturday night, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. We booked a reservation for 8:30 PM through OpenTable, and upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and given the choice of where to sit. That was an immediate sign of the thoughtful service to come.
Not long after we were seated, we were approached by Yusuke, who we didn’t realize at the time is the CEO and founder of UO Nigiri. We mentioned that it was our first time at the restaurant and that we were open to recommendations. From that moment on, the experience felt like a guided culinary journey. Yusuke took the time to chat with us, recommend sake pairings, and offer samples to find the perfect match for our meal.
We chose the premium dinner menu along with a couple of appetizers, and every bite was exceptional. Standout dishes included the buttery black cod, the rich and flavorful Nodoguro nigiri, and the incredibly fresh Uni nigiri. Each was prepared with a level of care and precision you would expect from a Michelin star establishment.
UO Nigiri offers an experience that is both elevated and intimate. From the genuine hospitality to the perfectly curated menu, it is a spot I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone craving a top-tier sushi experience in a cozy, welcoming setting.

Read moreI am from Japan and I am very picky with where I have my sushi. For the quality and the amount of food you get, the ambience and the service, this place is top notch. Their seafood is amazing extremely fresh as they have a special flash freeze technology freezer which keeps their fish from degrading. The presentation is beautiful and well-thought out. I highly recommend their three types of Omakase (chefs special) menus that you can choose from- I got their “Favorite” Omakase with appetizers, 8nigiri, 1 hand-roll. The servers are well-informed about the fish and the origin of where they come from. It is extremely important that you know where the source is from. They sell their fish at the Torrance Farmers Market, as Whitefin Market and they have been my go-to sashimi place for the past two years.
This place is a MUST visit for those sushi lovers out there!!
It is also in a small strip mall with bunch of other restaurants so there is parking but when it’s full it may be tricky. I was lucky and found a spot but there seems to be people waiting for to-go food which could...

I admire how they make Omakase accessible for people. Great prices and seriously the best and most fresh sushi I’ve ever had.
My friend and I are from out of town and really wanted high quality fish and UO delivered. Every garnish was made with intention and everything was packed with flavor. Every bite SENSATIONAL!
Service was awesome. Sushi chef thanked us on the way out. It was overall a 10/10 experience.
Cannot recommend this enough and just had to write a review because of how awesome this was. My Omakase was just $48 and I left STUFFED!
Didn’t get pictures of everything because at one point I was just way too mind blown hahaha!! So yummy. Sushi snobs… you need to...
