Still the same intelligent, positive service! I have a photo to show this.

As much as I love COSTCO shopping, this is now how much I dislike and will never trust the Citi-Card account service. After years of good service (no choice when Costco stopped AMEX, I have had an experience in which a transaction service was allowed and then not allowed. The communication with service, marketing and the executive office was hours and hours of my time with one department shifting me over to another.

Now that I mentioned this so associates, I hear more stories and even worse ones.

I used the Citi-card in other stores and will no longer use it for anything. I am baffled that such a great store has such an unscrupulous, callous credit card service.

Update 4th July week-end using the new (to me) self check-out feature! The first time I didn't need store associate help like the supermarkets. It saved at least 20 minutes of standing around in line with a few purchases. And I saw the deal of deals Cuties (oranges) and the fancy GRANA PADANO cheese I had at a restaurant last week-end! Thank you always, always COSTCO!

A note to say that even with twice the gas lines that I experienced earlier, it took less than 15 minutes to gas up. Costco has also provided extra, friendly helpers to make it go even easier.

Even when the service is slow and lackadaisical - as it was yesterday (as the store was closing down, when I told a mgr about it, LUPE apologized and got me what I needed and explained how COVID had drained energy. All any customer wants is to be listened to and given an answer; this is why we LOVE COSTCO so much.

Dr. Nishida is about the best there is for eye exams and prescriptions. He told me to consult with another doctor for a procedure that my insurance provider said could wait. I listened to Dr. Nishida and am thrilled with the results not to say that with covid I would not have been able to do elective surgery. When I recently suggested him to a friend, the answer was: all my neighbors and I have been going to him for years!

The new products and samplings coming to COSTCO are amazing. And some of the newer ones pre-COVID are back on stands. Although not quite sampling, still the friendly faces and encouragement to try. As with Sukhi's Indian food --...

While I typically start my Costco reviews at four stars—given their standardized inventory and reliable offerings across locations—I have to give this one a solid two stars due to some significant drawbacks.

Costcos generally carry the same products, from bulk groceries to household goods, and this location is no exception in terms of selection. You’ll find the usual array of items, like their signature Kirkland products, fresh produce, and great deals on electronics, which is why they start at a four-star baseline, much like other wholesale stores.

However, I judge Costcos beyond this baseline based on location, parking, and the overall shopping experience, and this Marina Del Rey location falls short in those areas.

The location itself is okay, situated in a busy part of Marina Del Rey that’s accessible but not particularly convenient due to the surrounding traffic on Lincoln Blvd. What really drags down the experience is the parking situation—it’s an absolute mess almost any time of day. Whether I visit on a weekday morning or a weekend afternoon, finding a spot feels like a competitive sport, with cars circling endlessly and the lot often overflowing. This alone knocks off a star, as easy parking is crucial for a stress-free Costco run.

Inside, the store is super crowded, making the shopping experience more chaotic than enjoyable. Navigating through packed aisles with a giant cart while dodging other shoppers was frustrating, and the checkout lines were long, even with the self-checkout option. The constant bustle makes it hard to shop efficiently, which is a big downside for a warehouse store where you’re often buying in bulk. This overcrowding takes away another star, as a more manageable crowd would make the experience far better.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any other Costcos or even a Sam’s Club nearby, so if you’re in the area, this is your only option for a wholesale shopping trip. While the staff is friendly and the store itself is usually clean, the parking nightmare and overcrowded aisles overshadow the typical Costco benefits. For me, these factors bring this location down to two stars. If you can handle the chaos and plan your visit during off-peak hours (if they even exist here), you might...

Good afternoon, this afternoon, October 3, 2024, I went with my family to the Cosco in Marina del Rey. I had a bad experience. I have been shopping at this store for 5 years. This day, at the entrance, they were asking me to swipe my Cosco card to enter. The African-American man was very rude to me. If I didn't swipe my card, I couldn't enter the store. I entered the store because of his attitude. He followed me all the way to the entrance where all the phones are and told me to get out. I hadn't done anything wrong. I have my card and he was very close to me. I don't know if they train the employees well so that they don't do that with the buyers. I don't know if they are following the California rules of not blocking anyone as long as they don't attack anyone. The African-American told me that I couldn't go to that store anymore just because I didn't scan my card. I think they are checking at the entrance and the exit. Well, the exit already. It's been years since you've been doing that, you do it a hundred percent of the time in line and you know that whoever leaves has already paid, going back to the same thing with the African American employee, he worked in stores and that's what the African American employee did, it was wrong to look at me and get very close to my face, I told him to leave and not to get too close to me, he walked in front of me inside the pharmacy, got my money, he dried himself there criticizing the other workers and the other workers didn't do anything to him and when I left he was waiting for me near where I sell car batteries and he stood in front of me, delaying me again, I don't know how they have that kind of people working there seeing that I'm a buyer, it's not treated like that, that's how it happened this afternoon at 5:30 pm so that you can look at the cameras if you don't believe me and one more thing please I want the manager of that store to answer me this Gmail and at least apologize for having people so unprofessional to do their job. Next time I will talk to the Cosco corporation. I await your response. Have a nice...

Bert N. (Op 79) This negative review is all because of you. I'm here helping my brother who is a disabled veteran who just came out of the hospital. The volunteer group who is also helping us had a day where they were decorating for veterans families for Halloween. I came in for one thing..a giant bag of candy for these families. I walked in with my card and showed my ID since I don't have my picture on my Costco credit card. Done this several times already. Then I ran into big Bert N with his mask and gloves at checkout. He immediately stated I needed to get this fixed and to go over to customer service. It's Saturday, it's busy, it's not my home store so I said no thank you. Thought that would be the end of it. But no. Not for big Bert N. He said I needed to do it again. I again said no. Then CostcoCop Bert decided to explain to me that it's the rules and I better do it and I better get a new Citibank card issued. At this point I just want to get out and get my one item to the veterans. I again said no. He so upset me that I was ready to walk out before I paid until he snarkely added "aren't you gonna pay for that" so I paid and told him to something off. Then big Bert N. said "don't you talk to me like that!!!" So I told him again what to do and walked away. The next day I went to the Costco on Los Feliz boulevard. Showed my ID when I came in.. Showed my ID at checkout and that was it. No issues, no BS. Just a good easy transaction which again went to the veterans. I'm sure when Bert went home to Ernie he was proud he stood up for the "rules" but all he did was make a faithful Costco shopper who is taking care of a disabled veteran, very upset. I'll never set foot in this Costco again. Thank you Big Bert N.
