Vista Rooftop at the SLS Hotel — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Me and my girlfriends came for a pool party on Sunday, July 23rd. The rooftop is absolutely fantastic, breathtaking views, nice pool area, lots of daybeds, tables and chairs. They had an EDM throwback party, DJs killed it and created a really fun atmosphere. Very clean, the staff was on it the entire time, our trash and empty dishes were cleaned up immediately. Sunscreen and water are available for everybody by the bar. The reason for my low rating is our server, Julia. She was nice and smiled a lot but seemed bothered by simple requests like splitting a check 2 ways. We were surprised with the bill. 20% gratuity is automatically added to all orders, which is fine. But we also got overcharged for our drinks and when I asked Julia about it, she didn’t apologize or anything, said she’d fix it and seemed annoyed yet again. We were not a high check table which probably caused the attitude on her side. And I was fine with paying $20 for an americano and iced tea, but my card was charged for $30. My wife and I, with our small yorky-poodle in tow (outdoor restaurant is pet friendly) had dinner at this restaurant on a Sunday night. It wasn't too busy. Views were great especially at sunset. Food was very good. We tried what the staff had suggested for both starters and entrees and we were pleasantly surprised. Great mix of flavors and quality. The service was very professional and helpful.. I only leave reviews for places that either really suck or are really good with respect to service and quality. Like any place we go, there are good days and bad days based on their workload and how the employees treat the patrons. I can say, my visit was a memorable on is a positive way. PS -if your a really boujee...like next level...which my guess is there are quite a few running around this area - pro tip - treat people how you want to be treated...the favor will...

Patrons beware: Rooftop initially charged me for the total of my bill then days later attempted to double it on the sly. 20% gratuity was included and I never authorized more. They Even went as far as to submit a fake receipt to my bank after I disputed it (I signed the original, the fake receipt didn’t have a signature.)
