Truly don’t understand what the big hype is about this place. I adore Brazilian cuisine.
Came here for my friends birthday party. There was about 20 of us. I was very excited to go because I had heard from several people this place was bomb. Bomb it was, but not in a good way.
This isn’t a senior citizens place, but I felt like it was because the salt and seasonings were missing. Seriously.
We sit down and of course waited for our party to arrive. Ordered a drink and it took about 15 minutes. Mind you the whole party wasn’t there yet. It’s explained that you go to the salad bar first and meat will come around. You must flip a round card over if you want a break from the meat servings. So, I go to the salad bar I’m floored at the selection even the actual salad.
I get lentil soup, asparagus, rice (mind you it reminded me of uncle bens boil bag rice), black beans, beets, hearts of palm, potato salad, and other things was flavorless. Like not even salt. Like I said, I felt like I was at one of those family restaurants for senior citizens, where they put no seasonings at all. Quite bizarre.
So, of course, our part is pretty much arrived and we’re already 45 minutes in. I’m wondering where this meat is that they’re talking about. Like I’m excited for this meat, but where the heck is it?
Shrimp cocktail comes around. Waiter says to my friend who is the birthday girl. This is complementary. Lol not! The shrimp cocktail are good. There very nice sized jumbo shrimp. Nothing special about the cocktail sauce. You know you would think it’s a Brazilian restaurant they would do a little twist on their cocktail sauce. Nope. Why are you even had a dream about that is beyond me considering the fact like I said, the salad bar had no seasoning whatsoever.
Finally, the meat comes around an hour and 10 minutes into a sitting down. First thing that came around was chicken thighs. Some people like chicken thighs I do not like chicken thighs. To my surprise, though they were nicely seasoned. I said to myself like really you couldn’t of seasoned everything else in between. I was already aggravated by the time the meat came anyway so I had a little teeny taste of the chicken and I was basically done for the night. The other people in our party did partake in the rest of the meat. They did say that not all the meat was seasoned! Who needs salt? Can you pass it down….lol.
Our server did notice that I wasn’t eating the meat so he had brought myself and my friend whose birthday it was Chilean sea bass. It was sitting on a bit of asparagus. It was lightly seasoned and over cooked total disappointment.
Service was all over the place. I mean he needed help because one of the guests sitting next to me, had one glass of wine during the entire dinner, and had asked for another glass and had never gotten it same with a few others.
I’m at a loss for this one. I don’t think I would ever recommend. However, if you are a beast of a carnivore go for it. Also, remember this is high-end and very pricey...
Read moreWe came in to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. We picked fogo de chao based on recs from friends in unfortunately we felt very dissatisfied. We arrived at 4:50 for our 5pm reservation. It was very quiet in the dinning room. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful! The wait staff is all very friendly... BUT…..We ordered the FULL CHURRASCO experience and At $75 per person we expected SO much more. The buffet of veggies, salads, fruit, cheese, and salami was beautiful and tasty. The Picanha and the Fraldinha was the best out of the meat line up but that probably because they offered those the most. The bacon wrapped chicken was also good but I mean… bacon… you can’t really go wrong with that. The pork was so dry it was inedible. Like actual wood chips. The garlic beef was like charcoal and so gristly. And the top sirloin was quite the opposite, so rare and bloody it was purple. Pretty sure I saw it move. lol. And they were offering various cheeses with honey which wasn’t why we were there. We didn’t see ribeye or filet one time and we were there for 2 HOURS! We even requested it with the server 2x. I had to mention that it felt like we were getting passed by every time the meat came out. It was a bummer we had to complain in order to get the meat servers to come to our table. They were serving all of the tables around us who felt like “regulars” as the hosts were chatting with them the entire time. We watched one of the meat guys serve the 2 tables near us and make a b line to a man sitting in the corner and then back to the kitchen literally every time he came around. We were asked many times if everything was ok and what we needed only to be forgotten about again. When they sat us they mentioned they work as a team. I’m all about team work but I think a server being responsible for their own tables and making the guest feel like they matter and they will deliver what they ask for is more important. We watched at least 15 tables come and go in the amount of time it took to get food and the bill. Towards the end of our LONG dining experience a nice male server came up and asked what else we needed and I said just the check I’m sure he could see the look of defeat on my face and he asked if we were celebrating anything and offered us a free dessert. We accepted. And to be honest it was probably the best part of the meal. The brûléed cheesecake was delightful. All in all we are so bummed to report for us the value wasn’t there. Sadly we will not...
