Nina's Taqueria — Restaurant in Los Gatos

I had a couple of options for dinner last night, and, unfortunately, my decision was not good. I ordered the burrito bowl with chicken, black beans, and tomato rice. It was the blandest food I think I've ever eaten. The chicken was boiled with no seasoning. It looked exactly like the chicken I cook when my pup has an upset tummy. The black beans were straight out of a can. Another opportunity to add flavor missed by not adding diced jalapeños or green chiles (or simply buying a can of black beans w/those added.) The tomato rice was only mildly flavored. I should have known something was up because all I could smell was the pico de gallo when Ipicked up the food. I am not someone who enjoys incredibly spicy food. I just want some kind of flavor. I gave an extra star because at least I didn't have stomach issues...

Nina’s Taqueria is one of my go-to spots in Los Gatos. It’s nothing fancy, and that’s exactly why I love it. The food is always fresh and flavorful—burritos, tacos, whatever I’m in the mood for, it always delivers. It’s the kind of place where you know what you’re getting, and it’s always solid.

It’s super popular with local families, and you can definitely feel that neighborhood energy—especially right after school when it gets packed with kids and parents grabbing a quick bite. I usually try to go just before the rush.

Had to throw almost everything away. Got a burrito, sope, guacamole/chips and 2 churros. Food was super bland and gross to eat. The burrito was cold in the middle, which means it was reheated and not freshly made, the $8 guac was a small takeout cup with a bag of stale chips. It tasted watery and like unripe avacodos. The chicken on the sope had no seasoning and the beans tasted like they were from a can. The churros were ok, but it's sugar and fried dough so you can't really mess that up. We spent $50, total waste of money. Should have known better when I saw the shrimp tacos were $9...
