I’m quite shocked this place has four stars.
Was craving a sandwich and all my go-to places were closed, so I found myself on Yelp, which generally doesn’t disappoint. I guess there is a first for everything.
Anything and everything about this place was bad. First off, we never DoorDash, but we did this ONE TIME and of course, the deli messes up our sandwiches big time, so the hubby had to go back and pick up new sandwiches. Kinda defeats the purpose of the delivery service. We were told if we wanted our delivery charges back, we’d have to take it up with DoorDash, even though it was not DoorDash’s mistake to begin with.
And this is where it really goes downhill (refer to photos I posted). We ordered three sandwiches. Sure we had some special requests but it was not all that complicated (again, refer to the receipt I posted).
The hubby ordered a Godfather II – it came just as he asked for, but like some other reviews mentioned, you’d think for the price, you’d get more meat. Overall, the taste was good, but we’ve had much better and heftier sandwiches elsewhere. The hubby also said the sourdough roll was tough.
The BFF ordered a Godfather II as well, without any special requests. It came MEATLESS. Yes, you heard right. THERE WAS NO MEAT (see photos).
I ordered the Iron Man (my special request was no oil, vinegar ok; NO MAYO). I got a sandwich with JUST MEAT WITH MAYO, none of the toppings. Even if they made my sandwich right, I think 3-4 THIN slices of meat is just not sufficient. I probably would’ve been better off with Subway or Togos.
After getting the RIGHT sandwiches, I still think that their sandwiches are lacking; it was decent at best. Sure, if I paid $7 – $8 for one, that’s fine. But $13 PRETAX? You gotta load it up with some more meat.
We will not be returning. I can make a better sandwich at home for a quarter...
Read moreI’ve known this business for many years (mainly their Los Altos location). Love their patriotic, all American style meshed with symbolic or perhaps iconic Italian things we’re familiar with. Italian sandwiches, God Father posters, Italian olive oils… American framed jerseys and other American pennants hung on the walls… But setting all of this aside, what’s made this amazing small business apart from your run of the mill deli, is it’s delicious sandwiches, pickles, cleanliness, friendly service and most importantly keeping its consistency in the way they deliver. My favorite? Of course, the medium Italian sausage sandwich, with their special sauce on sourdough bread. This is definitely worth forgetting about your caloric intake. You won’t realize what you’ve been missing all this time, till you try their sandwiches. Keep up...
Read moreI used to frequent this sandwich shop for a quick lunch to grab and go. I would always call in my order about 15-30 mins before walking over to pick up my sandwich.
The sandwiches and salads there are pretty decent.
The employees are mostly younger people who, for the most part, are quick and friendly.
But the reason I stopped going there was because of an older brunette woman who works there. Not sure if she's the manager or an owner or an employee, but she ruined the place for me. From taking my phone order to when I picked up my sandwich, which wasn't ready even after 30 mins from when I ordered, she was straight up rude to me. Not just unpleasant or grumpy or busy, she treated me like I wasn't worth her time. And that left a bad taste in my mouth....
