AGAVE BLUE TEQUILA & TACO BAR — Restaurant in Louisiana

Not my favorite, likely wont be back.

First, menu does not list how tacos are dressed and when I inquired while ordering, the staff member was unsure and didnt bother to check, simple responding "yes, lettuce, cheese." However, the tacos did NOT come with lettuce at all...but came with red onion and cilantro instead, which I do not like and would have changed had the correct info been given to me. Since it was a to-go order there wasnt much I could do.

Also, the to go order was not checked by staff and I was missing 2 items from the single dinner ordered!

In addition, when picking up the order, I practically had to offer to pay 3 times because the staff member was too involved in a conversation with personal friends and just shoved my food to me on a dirty bar counter (getting the bottom of the bag really gross). He seemed unaware that payment had not been taken even though he was the staff memeber who took my order. When I asked him what the total was he looked completely puzzled and asked me what I needed. I replied, "Would you like me to pay?" Only then did he realize that he had not taken my payment or provided a bill of any sort to me. I should have just walked out but am too honest for my own good.

Salsa tastes like tomato paste. I love salsa, and yet as hungry as I was and after paying good money on a botched order, I couldnt stomach eating more than a few bites before I tossed it. Tacos were overloaded with cilantro and onion. The steak meat was over peppered with no trace of any true mexican spice or flavor.

I guess I was supposed to get drunk first...then maybe I would have liked it.

I spoke to the manager on the phone, and he was nice and did offer sincere apologies. He extended an offer to receive a discount if I returned but gave no contact info if I did return in the future....so it doesnt make me want to run back anytime soon. A refunded payment or a small gift certificate left in my name would have made the experience sting a little less and condider giving the place a second chance, but I...

When we walked in no one was at the desk but it was only a minute before a young man who very obviously did not want to be there came. He came, looked at us, but did not acknowledge us. After a minute of standing there my husband said, "two please." The young man grab menus and walked away, we were supposed to know to follow him apparently. After he walked away without saying a word to us, a man brought chips and salsa, also without acknowledging us even though we spoke to him. At that point we should have left, but since there were not many people there we decided to stay; bad choice. The server was nice, that is the only good thing I can say about that evening. We ordered the "table-side guacamole" listed on the menu, so we were a bit confused when she brought a dish of already made guacamole. More concerning is that she was confused when I smiled and reminded her we ordered "table-side." So I told her this means "they make it table-side, at the table." To which she told me they did not. The drink I ordered was weak, to the point I wasn't sure there was alcohol in it; and I don't drink often so that is usually the first thing I taste. My beans had been sitting so long they had formed that dry top layer and the enchiladas had no flavor at all. Oh, and that tabe side guacamole, it had something sweet in it that made it very unappealing. When we left, having barely eaten anything, there was an older man and woman who seemed to be management sitting in the 'lobby' area laughing while a lot of bad service was going on...

Cute place but mediocre food!! I really don't understand how a human being can like and give a nice review to that place!!! The service is good, the menu is quite attractive, but the food has no taste at all, they put lots of onion on the plate to compensate the lack of real pieces of meat, no seasoning at all. The worse of all, the pictures on the menu is what they call, a representation of the food, yes, nice food just in the pictures because what is going to come to you is going to be an ugly looking food that tastes worse than the appearance of it... the people of Baton Rouge never complain, they eat, pay and complain at home, and let the restaurants get away with Super bad food that doesn't deserve any stars. The owners are deceiving costumers with a beautiful attractive picture... It's a very disgusting and Deceptive Propaganda. Should close the doors...
