Update: We have been longtime fans of this place, but it's time to start going somewhere else. I hate to reduce my rating, but the service and food quality has really tanked in our last few visits, and we're going to start patronizing other sushi places that are closer to us. It just doesn't make sense for us to drive 25 minutes to get slow, indifferent service, and be served completely burnt meat - when we live less than 10 minutes from multiple elegant, high-quality Japanese restaurants with competitive prices, and fast and friendly service. -------------------------------------------------------- Old review: My boyfriend and I have come here probably 20+ times in the last two years. It’s such a blast for us. The all-you-can-eat is affordable yet of such quality and abundance that we really don’t understand how this restaurant is making ends meet. But we keep coming! We love to get the sushi, the sashimi, and little sides like the hibachi scallops, miso soup, and gyozas. There is so much to choose from and it’s so laid back. I love that you fill out what you want on the menus, and even after your first course, you can get fresh menus and order again … and again. It really is all-you-can-eat so don’t be afraid to try things! Everything except the sushi rolls comes in small portions. Although, go slow or you may accidentally order more than you can eat. Don’t worry, there’s no rush 😌 The food always comes out quite fast. Every now and then they accidentally bring you the wrong dishes so just keep an eye out and let them know! It’s not a big deal when you’re not paying based on the quantity of food you get. And the ice cream is so delicious and creamy! It’s some of the best ice cream I’ve had. I usually get the green tea and the chocolate. And about the sushi - I have always felt it is fresh and tasty. I think only one time did it taste less than optimal. But I’ve always enjoyed it and never gotten sick from it.

Edit: I have not been back since they removed the lunch price from lunchtime on Saturdays. At the price point for the dinner during lunchtime on Saturday, I would just assume go somewhere more convenient. Maybe they couldn't stay afloat at the old price point, but it turned me off for sure. The parking lot is not very big and several spaces are compact only. So be mindful of parking. The staff helped quick to seat us and was nice. There was obvious language barriers, but that did not bother me. There is only two real options--sushi buffet (order at the table style) and hibachi. We did the sushi buffet. We also did the lunch (16 per plate plus 18% is added to the check/ 35 dollar ticket for two with water). There are paper menus on which you can mark your orders and laminated menus that help as a key to identify what's in the individual rolls that you order. There's also nigiri (a cut of sashimi on a bed of rice). I stuck mostly to the finger rolls and had one specialty roll. I preferred just eating the fish and rice without the drizzled sauce so I would probably only get the nigiri next time. If you like nigiri, the price is great for what you get because you can add soup, salad, ice-cream, and/or noodle entre items. The area was spacious and had a fish tank and nice aethetic. The fish was fresh, and i even saw them carrying 2 uncut fish fillets that were to be sized down to pieces that would be put in the sushi fridge at the bar. I would say that the bathroom needs some love. Some spray needs to be put in there or something. Both the male and female sides stunk bad and could be smelled from outside the door. The look of the restroom was not bad (same color tile on floor and wall and clean). This sushi buffet was a nice change from the way I usually experience sushi. You can't leave hungry (or it's your fault), and the quality does not significantly suffer because of the price. Come hungry and try the nigiri.

THE SERVICE HERE IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! FROM THE SECOND YOU WALK IN THEY LOOK AT YOU IN DISGUST. THEY MAKE YOU FEEL UNWANTED AND NOT WELCOME. ITS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO COMMUNICATE WITH ANYONE THERE, WHICH I UNDERSTAND BUT I MAKES IT HARD FOR ANYONE TO UNDERSTAND WHATS GOING ON. THEY WATCH YOU LIKE A HAWK. WALKING AROUND LIKE A CORRECTIONS OFFICER WATCHING PRISONERS. THEY RUSH YOU TO ORDER, WE WERENT EVEN SITTING DOWN YET AND THEY ASK WHAT YOU WANT TO DRINK. LIKE GIVE US A SECOND TO PUT OUR STUFF DOWN AND SIT. WE DID THEIR ALL YOU CAN EAT. THEY GIVE YOU A CHECK LIST TO MARK OFF WHAT YOU WANT. THEY BROUGHT USE EXTRA OF THINGS. NEVER BROUGHT OUR SOUPS OR CRAB STICKS. PUT MY SON AND DAUGHTERS DIFFERENT MEATS ON ONE PLATE. WHICH I HAD TO SEPARATE. MINE AND MY FRIENDS DIFFERENT MEATS ON THE SAME PLATE, SAME THING. BUT THE MAIN THING IM EXTREMELY MAD ABOUT IS THEM CHARGING MY CARD EXTRA MONEY. YOU PAY $4 EXTRA IF YOU USE A CARD. OK NO PROBLEM WHATEVER. BUT! BUT! MY TOTAL WAS $99.42 WITH THAT EXTRA ADDED. I PUT NO TIP AND LEFT CASH AS A TIP...AND THEY CHARGED MY CARD AN EXTRA $19.88. CHECKED MY CARD THE NEXT DAY AND THE TOTAL WAS $119.30. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO TO THIS PLACE! THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS!

The food was good. WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE. The staff constantly hovered around my table and harassed us during the meal. At one point, they even brought us drinks we didn't order. Us, being polite and trying to make it easy on the person waiting on us, said not to worry about the mistake. We ended up keeping the bottle of sake and etc, paid for it, and drank it. However, at one point, one of us at the table disliked a cocktail she had ordered. She politely asked the server later on if she could return it and order another drink. They not only made it a point to act like it was the end of the world, but rolled their eyes, talked badly about us to our faces at the table, and at the bar, and then barked at the person returning the drink. They went out of their way to open the menu and point at the drink, trying to embarrass her. The server then continued on to demand "what you want then!?! " even though she had already requested, POLITELY, I may add, a new beverage. Every one of us at the table were service industry of 7-10 years. Two general managers of upscale locations downtown, a bartender, and a server. All of us know what is it to be on the other side of the table and make it an absolute point to treat the person taking care of us with utter respect. For we too do the same job and deal with all sorts of characters on a day to day basis. I have never in my life been so blatantly disrespected by a complete stranger who was tasked in caring for my table. It honestly made me upset, feel sad, and want to leave out of being utterly uncomfortable. I've never in any of my dining experiences been to a place whose staff was so hostile and rude. We spent well around/over $100 per check, and I can honestly say if it were not for the fact they slapped an automatic gratuity on the ticket, I don't know if I would have left a tip. I have never in my 30 years on this earth, not left a good tip. I am the type of person who leaves if not 20%, then 30% or more, depending on the service. Nor am I even the type of person who goes as far as to write a bad review on a place. This is my first time ever doing anything like this. This is how horrible me and my group were treated there. So again, if you're hungry, and in the area, the food is good. But is it worth you being treated like a dog for a decent meal? You be the judge. This has been my experience. If you ask me, Gangham Korean Bbq is around the corner, and they are a better option. Even Daiwa down the street. Extremely friendly staff, incredible ambiance, award winning quality sushi and drinks, import sake selection, and all for a low-fair cost. Definitely save your time and money and go somewhere where you aren't going to be mistreated just...

Heavily disappointing services. Me and my wife went to this restaurant and both picked all you can eat menu ($22.95 each). We were pretty starving and this was our first time to this restaurant, so we kinda wanted to explore some variety of Rolls. So "all you can eat" option made sense to us. We ordered 1 steak kabob (3 oz), 1 springroll (2 peices) and 1 gyoza (4 pieces) as our appetizer. Once we finished those, we ordered 5 types of Sushi Rolls (8 each in each roll). I know it is a lot of food but that is why we picked all you can eat option right! 2 different waitress came in and warned us about if we could not finish it, there will be an extra charge. We were already told about the extra charge thing when we chose "all you can eat" option at first. Telling it time and again felt very offensive. Then they gave us 3 order of our Sushi in few mins and we finished it and waited about 35 minutes for our next 2 order. We were just waiting and looking at waitresses face to see if they would come to us to check. And Finally, one of the waitress came in to check on us and we said we were waiting on our rest of our food. She suddenly gasped so loudly saying "yall still have more food to come". Literally our total food so far was 1 kabok steak (like 3oz), 2 Springroll & 4 piece of gyoza and 24 piece of Sushi. But honestly, I was still hungry. She said it so loud that lot of other customer looked to our table to see whats going on. It was very embarrassing. Then I just said- please bring my check so we can head out. Me and wife were very offended. Then another waitress realized that we still had some food coming. But the experience had already been so terrible, we did not want to wait again for rest of our food. Lot of people were looking at us while we walked out of the restaurant. I must say I felt very humiliated. More than me my wife felt terrible. I don't normally write food reviews. If the food is bad, I just do not go back. if the order gets wrong, I understand- people make mistakes. However, this time it felt intentional humiliation. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. The food was decent but the service was...

Very disappointed. We had booked a reservation at this restaurant for 16 people at the large hibachi table so that we could all sit together, but when we got there the hostess told us that they had just seated another party at that table and it would be a while before we could sit because the hibachi chef had only just started cooking their food. So we sat down and waited for 30-45 minutes before the hostess returned and told us that we could continue waiting for the large table, or split up and sit at two different tables. At that point we were all frustrated and hungry so we agreed to the two tables. We decided to split up with adults at one table and children at the other (note: the oldest “child” at the children’s table was 23, so it’s not like it was a bunch of young children at one table unsupervised), but then the hostess started yelling at us to sit 10 people at one table and 6 at the other so that she could sit another party at our table. She was very rude about it and kept yelling at us as if we were stupid, it was so bad another waiter had to come and diffuse the situation. And we weren’t the only party to be the subject to this ladies ire either, as she yelled at another party as they were being seated at the table next to us. She then yelled at my mother later in the evening when she asked where the bathrooms were, embarrassing my mother as everyone trying to enjoy their dinner turned to stare at the commotion this lady created. The food was decent enough, but the steak was often over-cooked.

I am not alone when I say that the experience at this restaurant was unprofessional, to say the least. It seems my family and I were not the only customers to have experienced such rudeness by the waitstaff, based off of many other reviews of people complaining about similar experiences. I have been to this restaurant before in the past and for the most part had a favorable opinion on it, but that all changed after this most recent experience. Will likely not be returning any time soon....
