My friends and I came here for a birthday brunch on a Saturday afternoon. On Instagram they advertise having $20 bottomless mimosas and margaritas. I was the first to order a bottomless mimosa and our waitress informed me that I was limited to five mimosas. I found this strange but I ordered it anyway. When our waitress brought my first mimosa to the table, I was disappointed because the glass was only half full but I didn’t complain. We received less than poor service, despite the restaurant being close to empty but that’s not why I’m leaving this review. When we received our check everything was on one ticket, someone in our group noticed several $1 bottomless mimosa charges and asked our waitress about it. Our waitress informed us that we were charged an additional $1 for the flavor for each mimosa, then four people at the table gave her our debit cards to split the bill. Someone at our table asked to speak to the manager about how the bottomless mimosas were advertised. The manager became extremely argumentative stating that the deal was advertised appropriately and then eventually agreeing with my friend that having $20 mimosas written online, on menus, and on the board behind the bar was misleading. Once they settled another waitress came over to our table pointing at a line on a drink menu that said $20 margaritas, I’m still not sure how that was relevant or why she inserted herself into the conversation. We took offense to this as she was being condescending, another person at our table cursed at her. At this point we were wanting to get our debit cards back so we could leave. We realized that the police had been called, as we were speaking to the officers they told us they were called because we didn’t want to pay which was untrue. Ultimately we got our cards back and were told by the officers that we couldn’t return to the restaurant. I certainly never want to go to Los Jefes again and you shouldn’t either. The service is terrible and they mis-advertise to try to draw customers....
Read moreI just recently moved right next to this restaurant and our leasing agent recommended it so we figured we would give it a try and stopped in on a Sunday for dinner with my parents. It didn’t seem super busy even though it was a Sunday but I guess it must’ve been because the host greeted us and then said she would be back but we were waiting for quite a while before she came back to seat us. Once we got to our table it was quite a while before we were greeted, got any drinks, or had any type of order taken. Our waitress however was very friendly though so I won’t blame that on her since there was also outside seating so even though it didn’t seem busy it was the weekend so I’m sure it was. I didn’t have high hopes since the hispanic food we’ve had out here has been very underwhelming but when I was asking her if a certain item was spicy she said she could bring me a sample of the meat and my hopes immediately changed because y’all that meat was SO flavorful and I immediately chose that as my item. The portions were nice and you could tell it was fresh and everything we had was absolutely delicious. My mom wanted to give her regards to whoever made the food and apparently the nice gentleman that brought us our food was the owner (from what I remember) so it was nice to know that the food was truly authentic since my mom is actually an immigrant herself. Overall, if you don’t mind waiting a little bit then I highly recommend this place because the food is amazing and their drinks are good too. Truly...
Read moreFirst time here... It's a relatively new place pretty convenient to I-10. A couple of parking lots, but it's a congested area, so I had to drive around to get a spot. Looks nice from outside, handicapped ramp, outdoor seating. Inside, there are a couple of small rooms, and a new, larger room which can be rented for parties, or events. Since I was attending a Yelp event, the owner (Oscar) spoke to us to introduce his food for the evening, and tell us about the restaurant. They make everything fresh (not frozen) and use family recipes for everything. Sounds good!!. I had a great margarita, and the staff was super attentive. There were chips and salsa and a tasty cheese sauce (queso blanco). Great start! THE FOOD: They started us off with a tortilla soup. It's up there with one of the best I've had. Rich, flavorful and a hit of jalapeno heat. I could have eaten a big bowl! I had 3 tacos. Barbacoa, lengua and carnitas. All 3 were very good, but I liked the lengua best. Great bites of flavor and super fresh. Their 2 hot sauces were exceptional. Verde and Rojo. The red was smokey, great flavor and lots of heat. The Verde had kick and a nice tart tomatillo taste. Lastly, churros in vanilla ice cream. The churros were stuffed with a custardy cream I think. Very good. They also have Taco Tuesday dollar tacos, and tequila nights. Great atmosphere and decor. But, go for the food. Authentic Mexican food. It's in my top two now around town...
