I wish I could give them 0 stars. My friend took me to lunch for my birthday today. I suggested that we go to Hummus and More on Severn. She asked if I wanted to try a different place a block further on Severn, which took us to Alabasha.

I asked for the lamb kabob. I have eaten lamb twice in the last month at Hummus and More and it was delicious. Well, it comes and it is under cooked. It also had a strange tasted to it. It actually tasted like it was bad. We called our waitress over and explained that it had an off taste to it. We asked if we could just get a shrimp kabob in place of the lamb. She was very pleasant and said she would talk to her manager.

Next thing you know, a young man walks up and just stands at our table and stares at us, with a horrible look on his face of displeasure. I stared back and then thought he must have seen us calling the waitress, so I told him that the waitress had already helped us. He said, "I know; what is the problem?" I could hardly believe the tone of his voice and the fact that he was showing us such an disrespectful attitude. When we explained that the lamb had a strange taste to it, he became noticeably agitated and stressed that they had just received it yesterday and it was cooked yesterday. He said, if you're not used to eating lamb, you might just not be used to the different taste that it has. I was so taken aback that I didn't even think to ask why on earth it wasn't cooked when I ordered it. Anyway, he kept arguing with us and finally my friend said, "We just don't like it; okay?" She was done with his rude attitude.

The waitress came back, very apologetic and said that she can get us a shrimp kabob but her manager said that we would have to pay for it. Un-freaking-believable. Who the heck does that at a restaurant. We weren't even asking that anything be taken off of our bill. We just wanted to replace something that didn't taste right. I have never been so disrespected in any type of establishment before. I will never go back and they have lost the business of my fiend and all of her...

Me and my friend for the lunch at 3pm today, we ordered chicken shawarma I asked no rice and wheat bread and French fries. The serving guy came after 10 mins bought my order with rice and white bread I asked him I said no rice and I wanted wheat bread he said I just go to know we are out of wheat bread I said ok and we had our lunch and he bought the cheque. I didn’t write any tip for two things one for service and we was rude to us. Serving guy name was sayeed, he was keep on insisting to write the tip and saying it’s mandatory, I asked him did you bring the right order and did you refill our water. He didn’t respond and asked again to write the tip, I said what happens if I don’t write the tip he said nothing, then I said fine for your service I won’t write the Tip, serving guy(Sayeed) said not to come again to albasha if you don’t want me to tip. I asked to call the owner he said owner is not available now, someone from inside came and apologised for this issue .

But this is one of the worst service I have faced in albasha Metairie. I hope owner reads this review and responds on this.

Worst worst service, I will never be to this place again and I don’t recommend to...

This is the only albasha that i have had problems with from time to time,if its not one thing then something else pops up.After having a issue i usually take my business elsewhere as they have an owner or manager that just doesn't seem to worry about keeping his customers coming back, seems like he just doesn't care one way are another. The latest problem is giving his customers a basket of pita bread with there meal or salad or soup.you get 1 piece cut in half for 2 people and when you ask for more you get charged for the bread.I recently found out when you order pasta with chicken you do not get bread.or if you order 2 cups of soup for the table you get no bread the soup must come in a bowl.if you order any salad you can only get bread if you remember to ask for it,and if you don't ask you don't get any.I ran this by the managers of other albasha's and they shook there head and said that is not how it is supposed to be.And when i recently called him to question him about this he slammed the phone in my ear way to go,great way to run your business.you should try and get into another job for a living because you don.t know how to treat people.I will never ever return to...

5-stars - for quantity of food for the money 4.3-stars for the food itself 5-star service Specifics: For the record this is our go-to Greek Lebanese place especially when we’re in a hurry. Normally for lunch or dinner we can sit down, order and be eating, and done in under an hour. The service this evening was especially fabulous. The staff is normally very attentive. Tonight we ordered the Mesa plate for three + moussaka eggplant, spinach pies. This amount of food easily fed four adults with a Full take-home container when we were done. The Meza plate has an amazing assortment of food starting with a salad and then: Baba ghanoush, hummus, chicken, rice, gyro meat, falafel, Kibby and served with pita. If most of this sounds good to you just order it… You can order it for two people or for three people. It normally serves one person more. Today we ordered the eggplant moussaka plate for the very first time and it was excellent – lots of very tender and delicious eggplant cooked in a very rich garlic, tomato and onion sauce.

Food was good Restaurant was clean Nice ambience Clean restrooms Only caveat was that they charged gratuity of around 20% without even giving us a choice. I mean who even does that ? I’ve never been to a restaurant that added gratuity by themselves and on top of that still expect us to tip?? If you’re charging ~20% gratuity and acting surprised when I asked about it and the surprising part is that they fail to mention that anywhere on the receipt. You say on your menu that for a party of 8 or more you will be charging 18% gratuity then why the heck are you charging 20% gratuity for a party of two people. I would be reluctant to come to this place again.

The restaurant is bright and clean looking with delicious smells all around us. I ordered the grilled shrimp plate, it came with fresh humus, and a green salad, and rice with peas. Everything was delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked, light and fluffy the peas sweet. The salad was simple just chopped romaine but the dressing was so yummy. Feta on top was a little salty a little tangy. The humus was cool smooth and tasty. The grilled shrimp were buttery garlicky and cooked just right. The plate came with house made pita tender and just a little chew. I enjoyed every bite.
