Wow! What a hamburger! And those fries!! You don't expect freshly wrapped and fried mini egg rolls or just-roasted babaganoush when you stroll into the only kosher game in town that serves as general store (shabulbs greet you a half-second after you stroll through the door, but before you see them you've already been tossed a homey, small-town greeting by at least one smiling face), grocery, take-out deli, and greasy spoon, and you don't get them, either. The egg rolls might have been recently frozen, but they were served hot & crispy, and the pitas with the baba were toasty and plated with fresh lettuce. The kitchen really shined with the half-pound burger. Two well-seasoned freshly-formed patties, two perfect medium-rares surrounded by a tasty char, bright and crispy lettuce/tomato/red onion, toasted buns, a pickled salad with robust zing, and the fries -- stubby wedges with a very thin batter or dredge of peppery goodness, crispy on the outside, steamy and smooth on the inside. This kitchen knows how to craft an amazing burger platter. Even better were the people. There was no doubt that we were out-of-towners, because they know everyone who comes. It's one thing to have "regulars" by necessity, but they run the place to get regulars by choice. I'm ready to believe she knows the entire community by first name, and her pride in talking about it to out-of-towners just made me grin. I loved the sports memorabilia covering every available surface of the dining area -- my wife was less enamored but adequately impressed by the variety. The grocery selection doesn't match what we're accustomed to in our spoiled east-coast communities, but if you're keeping kosher in the Big Easy you're going to get everything you need (and some things you want to need -- the giant blocks of drool-worthy halva at the end of the deli counter, e.g.), and attentive service only your Jewish...

We called on a friday afternoon to make a delivery order, as this is one of the only kosher places in NOLA. We ordered about 8 meals and on the phone we asked for enough plates and utensils for 10 people. On the phone when we kept asking how much the total would be, they kept evading the answer and told us they would call us back to confirm the final price. They never ended up calling to let us know and they delivered the food about 2 hours later to our hotel.

We were extremely shocked to find out that they had charged $15 for the plates and utensils! Usually these are included in delivery orders for free and it was very deceptive of them to not mention that price. Also keep in mind there is a $25 delivery charge and they are not on any food delivery services.

They also charged us 89 cents per garlic mayo side which was also not disclosed! $10 in total for terrible surgery sauce that tastes nothing like garlic mayo.

When we called the restaurant they were extremely defensive, rude and unapologetic. They kept saying the plates charge and garlic mayo charge was on the menu but i am attaching the menu we ordered from, it did NOT say anything about this charge. They then hung up on me. Despicable...

The cashier was extremely rude & arrogant. The grocery store lacks many items I was looking for. No Carmel wine, no yellow pea soup mix, no.croyden house powder for soup. The menu showed cabbage rolls on line but it wasn't on the menu they had. The matzo soup was blan hardly any taste. The chopped liver was decent but there was no honey in it & wasn't served with grilled burnt onions I always get. We especially took a drive for almost 2 hrs & anticipated a.good experience but it wasn't great. The Reuben was nothing great. We have had better. The pics we saw online were more elaborate than what we saw in person. I saw long logs of halva but what we saw in person was a very tiny showcase with small pieces instead. We were only allowed to get half pound pieces. I don't think we should be forced to buy more. The trip was a waste. What we ate there was quite pricey. The Kedem juice was more expensive than.Walmart so I didn't buy any. All in all a big disappointment. I've been to many delis & had better...

This spot is the only kosher option in New Orleans, and usually that’s grounds for sucking, but this place is awesome! Firstly, they have Kosher groceries. Everything you need to make a Shabbos as a traveler, from Challah, to candles, wine and take out food. They have importered chocolates, rugelach etc. Their take-out food is super tasty! We ordered the white fish with bagels, good stuff. We also got the jimbalaya, the po boy sandwich, and the classic pastrami sandwich. It was nice to have a little taste of Nola but it was also great to have classic deli as well. Also the staff is so nice and friendly and helpful. We’ll be back!

Incredible kosher food, burgers were delicious and better than any burger I’ve ever eaten in New York. The store has cool history on the walls and all these sports memorabilia, the owner Joel is very nice! I got chicken nuggets and they were so good and the burgers were super juicy. They sell a lot of kosher food in the supermarket section of the shop which is great for if u ever find yourself in Metairie. Prices are reasonable too. It’s a cool shop would definitely recommend u can spend all day in there
