We should have gone to DeAngelos and gotten the Super Deluxe, but we wanted to sit outside. The food at this place was a dissappointment. Don't waste your money on this place. First and last time we'll ever eat here. We decided to get a late lunch/early dinner-we weren't all that hungry but the weather was nice and decided on sitting outside for her Birthday Dinner, we waited about 10 minutes before even the first table touch. The server said that he had just come on shift-so no prob. I've been drinking Old Fashions forever and this is the first one I've EVER gotten with carbonated water. Wasn't expecting carbonated water! Strike One! The Works Pizza for the money was a joke. Super light on toppings, doughey underneath, annd came complete with 2.5" perimeter worth of crust all the way around-you know, because food cost on pizza is sooo incredibly high. It was so small we ate the whole thing. OVERPRICED for what it was. We should have gotten a Super Deluxe across Perkins-At least we'd have leftovers. Strike Two! Since we wanted to split another dish, and both of us saw a few tasty looking pasta dishes, we got some sort of Garlic Linguini Fettucini with a $3 upcharge for 6 or 8 pieces of chicken cubes the size of one of those small marshmellows. Apparently the cook didn't know about salt or pepper-or seasoning food, because our dish was completely BLAND. Think canned Alfredo Sauce-seriously-I really do think this is what it was. For $15 you'd think they'd spring for a WHOLE chicken breast sporting a few grill marks and flavor. Again, portion size was anemic and a joke. Strike Three! For $54 you'd think there would be food left over for a middle aged couple who never eat a whole entree. At least the server was decent enough and did offer to bring a birthday sundae. After reading a number of reviews of this place-I can't wait for the canned response Management gives everybody. California Pizza Kitchen-you'll never again get a dollar from me.
EDIT UPDATE: Management requested I leave feedback on the company website in the appropriate place for reviews so they could get in touch with me. I did. It's now been a month to 6 weeks later and there still has been NO contact from the Franchisor. Lip Service, is all you get-and not even...
Read moreMy friend and I have made this our go-to place before attending a movie in Perkins Rowe, but our experience last evening was far from satisfactory. We entered the restaurant a bit before 4 p.m. (to attend a 5 p.m. movie) and all the staff (except for those working the kitchen) were having a meeting at one of the big tables. They saw us and no one made any effort to greet/seat us for at least five minutes. (I am a retired customer service manager and I can tell you that's NOT the way it's done!) We asked a girl working behind the bar if it was ok to sit outside and she (nicely) told us someone would be with us in a minute. So, we went back to the entrance and waited several more minutes for a lady to come seat us, at which point we again requested to sit outside. Her response, not in a pleasant way was, "I heard you". Well, if you heard us, you should have popped out of your chair and seated us then and there. Jeez. Then to add insult to injury, she placed us at table directly in the sun where neither of us would have been able to see, let alone eat without squinting into the glare. We took it upon ourselves to change tables and were half expecting her to come rip our heads off for that move. As an aside, Greg, our server was wonderful, friendly, and efficient and the food was delicious. So, when we get ready to leave, I want to see this woman again to get her name and leave a review as well as bring her conduct to the management's attention. Imagine my surprise when I see she does not have on a nametag, but her shirt reads "MANAGER". Just wow. Not sure how she attained this position, but someone needs to take a good look before she drives more business away. Thank goodness Greg was such a nice guy and made us feel like valued customers, because she...
Read moreI am honestly saddened that I have to write this review. But I have to so people can understand. I came into California Pizza Kitchen on November 11th for a Veterans Day Advertisement for free food. I just thought I’d enjoy the day and see if people actually cared about my services to this country. They were nice when came in. And when the server found out we were doing the Veterans Day Comped meal she didn’t even bother to come around and check on us, the food never came out. And I had to watch as she passed by us over the course of 40 minutes with no food and no reciprocation. My wife started to get very upset and I took it upon myself to tell he we should leave because God knows they wanted us to. I got up super upset and went to the hostess. I told her to relay to the waiter our disappointment and how disrespected I felt. We left. And not only was it bad not getting a promotion they put out and the embarrassment of coming in. But how she stared at us and catered to everyone else but me. I work everyday supporting squadrons and maintenance divisions to ensure my brothers overseas and on land are supported. It saddens me to see how far away from respect America has come. When heading home someone spat at my car. For what? You tell me idk? I don’t get paid ridiculous amounts of money, actually we active duty military only get paid a small amount compared to a lot of jobs for twice the work. Either say you won’t support your troops and retirees or do. It’s up to you. But false promises and exploitation isn’t cool. You will remove that from all California Pizza Kitchens that treat Veterans like this or your a part of the problem not...
