My family and I dined at this location on 12/30/18. The waiter (blonde haired punk with sleeve tattoo) was rude from the start at the meet and greet. Please understand that I spent 14 years in the service industry as a server at Tony Angelo's, snug harbor and pierre masperos. I'm very familiar with customer treatment and they way things are supposed to be handled as far as food allergies and spicy food. After receiving our microwaved food my 10 year old daughter wanted to try a pepper on my plate. I looked the waiter straight in the eye and asked him if the pepper was hot and I explained that my 10 year old wanted to eat it and that she cant handle hot. His response verbatim: "no, i eat them all the time...i love them...it is not hot at all. It is very mild and has virtually no spice to it AT ALL." He walked away and hid at the bar and watched my daughter take a bite and started laughing. When he came back I confronted him and asked him to get the same pepper and I wanted to watch him eat it. He of course refused. He sees my 10 year old choking with her eyes watering and never once tried to apologize to her or me. Once I confronted him, like the obvious coward he is, hid in the kitchen and we had to get the bill from another server bc he was too much of a coward to face me. When I went looking for him I could over hear him making jokes at my 10 year old's expense to staff and other customers at the bar. Pretty sick. My daughter is a tough girl...when we got in the car she started crying and complaining about how bad it was and that she felt like her face was on fire and that she didn't want to cry in the restuarant bc she was embarrassed. Now here I am the next day trying to let it go but my daughter wakes me up this morning complaining about her stomach burning and having diarrhea. Unfortunately it is illegal for me to punch his lights out like I would have loved to do. If he lied to me and let me eat a hot pepper I would have laughed about it and found it funny. But my 10 year old daughter? What's wrong with you bro? At this point I am not letting it go and will literally do anything to ensure that this punk doesnt have the opportunity to do something like this again. I strongly suggest managment to contact me if they read this. Very very unhappy and...
Read moreI'll start by saying I just moved to Covington and still am not familiar with where everything is. So I called Carreta's at 9:10 to place an order for pick up. They close at 10, figured I have plenty of time. Showed up really late to pick up the food. My wife insisted I pick up our son and take him with me to get the food, rather than just picking it up on my way home. It must've been a few minutes after 10 when I arrived. The staff saw me with my 8 month old son and let me in. I told them that I was just there to pick up an order. They checked and informed me that they didn't have any orders pending. I explained that I called in for an order of chicken and steak fajitas. They could have easily sent me on my way and who could blame them? Instead they were so friendly to my son and I and offered me a seat while they started up the kitchen to make my order (despite it being Friday night after 10 p.m.). I enjoyed the great conversation with all of the staff employees. They sure knew who to make us feel welcomed and appreciated as customers. Although this location is further from my home, I will definitely be bringing my family back here....
Read moreFirst off this is my first negative review I’ve ever done. I try to do positive reviews, with that said eat at your own risk. Hands down the absolute worse “authentic Mexican” food I have ever attempted eat. I’ve eaten local food in Iraq made by dirt farmers with dirty hands in mud ovens and this is still worse. Queso had the consistency of skim milk and looked like birdshit, lettuce was brown, the shrimp chimichanga was made with only what I can describe as a boil bag of mini shrimp rotten eggs. The salsa was basically a purée of cilantro slightly dyed red. The hostess was clueless and glued to her phone. A grand total of three customers were in the restaurant and we still waited at least 5 minutes for her to unglue her face off of her phone and acknowledge we were was waiting, even after letting her know we were here. The waiter, well clearly he has had better days, and totally understand why he was in a horrible mood based of his lack of decent co-workers. I get work staffing sucks, and not every restaurant will be a hit, but this place granted clean building, horrible food. Taco Bell is a closer fit to authentic Mexican...
