I ate at this establishment on three seperate occasions. The first time was weird; they took forever to wait on us, and our food was just as delayed. Yet, when the food arrived it was so delicious (Redfin blackened w/ red potatoes and green beans). I couldn't wait to have it again because of how blown away I was by how unbelievably good the food was. The second times was exactly the same experience, yet this time I added grilled shrimp in galic sauce. I FINALLY, felt like I found the best place to eat fish out here that is a complete dinner. Then, the third visit changed everything. I ordered exactly the same items and it was perfect until I got halfway through my meal and realized I had been eating plastic the whole meal. I get the waiter, he apologies, takes my plate and brings me the bill discounting my meal. Which is still $60 minus the fish. No apology from the manager or owner, and no replacement meal nor offer. They still charged me for the add-ons even though they took my plate with everything on it still. I cannot believe how horrible the management was and how they tried to rush me out of their building, instead of trying to fix their error. Treating me as if I put the plastic wrapping there myself. I could have been severely injured by consuming part of the plastic packaging. This was such a horrendous experience. Thank God I didn't choke. Shame on y'all.

With so many great restaurants in New Orleans, and a handful in Jefferson Parish, it seems this long-standing eatery would have appropriated some lessons with regards to quality and service. The lobster and crawfish were mediocre at best, fries were cold and the service friendly but lacking in efficiency and professionalism (the bartender was great though). They have a small, but decent wine list. At the very least, they could split the lobster tails and provide wet naps in addition to the low quality non-absorbent napkins. The highlight of this place is the musical artist Dale Hunter on Thursday nights. If you're not expecting the best quality food and want a nice evening out with great entertainment, this is the spot, otherwise, much left to be desired. Way too many fried dishes with little attention to detail or anything overly creative. With good atmosphere, open grill and decor, it has the potential to be better. Fingers crossed!

My wife and I ate there on a Wednesday night. It was not crowded.

I had the Blanken Salmon. It came with potatoes and green beans. All of them were excellent.

My wife had the Broiled Stuffed Catfish (I think that was the one....it was a stuffed catfish for sure). Her meal was the opposite of mine. Her potatoes were whole (mine were cut into pieces). She got zucchini (we think that is what it was) as her vegetable (came with the meal). And the stuffed catfish. The potatoes were ok, but mine were better. Her zucchini was flavorless and mushy (like they sliced it and boiled it to cook it?). The fish was ok, but the crabmeat stuffing had many bits of sharp shell in it (this is what really made us not happy).

She was getting a bit of shell in pretty much every bite and having to pull them out of her mouth. We showed them to the server (lackluster server at best btw....), and her response? 'Well, we use fresh crabs and sometimes pieces of the shell get mixed in with the crab'. Now, I don't know the truth of that. What I do know is that my wife's crab stuffing was filled with small chips of some very hard material that was sometimes quite sharp. She tried 3 bites of it and quit after pulling pieces out of every bite. After she told us that, she asked us if we wanted a go box for it. I told her that no, we do not need one because we were not going to eat it now, or at any time in the future.

I should have actually asked for a manager because I can't believe that it is normal for your crab stuffing to have stuff like that in it. But, we were quite frankly more than a bit pissed at it. So instead, I am griping about it after the fact on here.

So the moral of the story? Their crab stuffing and zucchini is terrible, and the waitress we had was not...

Ok so I rarely write reviews. This place was bonkers. We picked it because it was lent, we wanted fish and it was on the way. The place looked really simple and had some burnt out neon letters which could either be exceptionally good or exceptionally bad.

We walked in to a really clean, open space where the music wasn’t super loud and were sat immediately.

Our server was awesome. She was clearly from the area and knew the menu inside and out. The menu isn’t super clear and she was able to talk us through our 10000 midwestern questions.

We wanted some deep fried stuff so we ordered pickle chips and onion rings. I never would have expected them to be handmade. They were so good. Like, so good that even though I knew I had to eat more food after I still couldn’t stop eating them. And they had the good ranch. You know what I mean. The really good stuff.

The server, Lynn, who, again was so super good, recommended the red fish. I’m from Wisconsin. We don’t have redfish. But. She was so awesome so I tried it.

I don’t know what kind of insane stuff they put in their blackening season, but it has to be illegal. It was one of those “I am so full but I can’t stop eating” kind of things. Then when I finished my plate my husband started putting his food from his absurdly huge seafood platter on my plate. Even when I was so full I hated myself, I still at the entire deep fried catfish filet. And I couldn’t stop eating THAT either.

Literally go there. I’m not kidding. It’s worth the shame you will feel because you can’t stop shoveling all the goodness...
