I hate to rate our experience this low, but I want the owner to see this since he was the problem with our visit. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and helpful and the food was great. We ordered poboys among other things and my wife’s bread was over cooked. I’m assuming they warm the bread on a grill because there were black grill marks on the bread that weren’t on the other poboys we ordered. I brought the sandwich back to the counter and asked them either to remake it or at least put it on a new bun. Two minutes later a man (who I assumed was a manager) appears at our table with the same sandwich. He then proceeds to tell us about their contract with Leidenheimer bakery and how if she would just try it he’s sure she would love it. My wife and I have been eating poboys close to 60 years now and would certainly know when the french bread is not right. He did not know this but why in the world would he question her? He did bring my wife a new bun and apologized but I don’t understand why he felt the need to ruin her meal over a 30¢ piece of bread.
Long story short, I find the general manager of the restaurant and tell him what happened. It turns out the person arguing with my wife is the owner of the restaurant. Are you kidding me? The one person who should know how to treat a guest in his restaurant (who just spent $73 for dinner) should be the owner one would think. We didn’t ask for our money back or anything for free. We just wanted the problem fixed so we could all enjoy our meal.
To you, the owner, my advice is either you take a class on customer service; follow around your GM and some of the other great people you have working there to see what customer service looks like; or stay out of the restaurant when customers are there because you’re only going to run off business if this is how...

Burger is large and taste good and comes with about 6 home fries and a delicious dip sauce that you don't get enough of (no joke, thumb size container). As stated taste good BUT hard to swallow at $12.95 espically with no drink.....! CITY'S Best GUMBO... WASN'T. $7.95 For a small bowl of what taste like can Gumbo. FYI, I found 1 ½ can coctail shrimp and 2 slice of sausage. Half the small bowl was Rice.
At the takeout window it took 16 minute (felt sorry for those behind me since I drove right up)... NO JOKE Sixteen minutes with no explanation. They just opened the windows, handed me bag saying SORRY and closed window before I could open my mouth.
Overall.. tasty overpriced burger and ok home fries (though sause for only 3)... Honestly, get a better or just as satisfying 'big burger' at Hardys or even Wendy's. The Sauce was best experience though not enough. The "City's best" Gumbo was the biggest disappointment.
Hey.. want a quicker good burger, try Wendy's or Hardy's. Want a better Gumbo, try Progresso Gumbo or any frozen Gumbo at WalMart. You'll get just as good, quicker and for less money elsewhere (over $20 without a drink for one person). I'm sure their are locals that love it, this traveler was not impressed.
This is a PASS LOCATION for those Visiting. If you drive a larger vehicle beware takeout windo has tight turn out on...
Read moreThe wife and I decided we wanted to try somewhere new tonight, so we just picked a spot on the map and came here. Sure not disappointed that we did however I am a little disappointed that they were out of onion rings. I was looking forward to having those with my mushroom and Swiss burger. But I had the garlic fries and they were okay. Be sure and get the garlic sauce on the side when you order the garlic fries because they don't give you enough on the fries but they'll give you a cup to dip them in if you order it on the side. My burger was cooked exactly as I asked for it, no complaints there however it wasn't as flavorful as I'd hoped. I don't know if they don't know if they don't use some seasonings that maybe other places do, but I've had tastier mushroom and swiss burgers however there was nothing wrong with this one. My wife had the shrimpzilla and oh my gosh it was a meal for two! Absolutely no complaints about the size of that sandwich... she said it was a really really tasty too. It was a really nice touch to be able to get up and get an ice cream cone for dessert from their complimentary machine. And on a side note, we saw a salad being delivered to the table next to us and it looked amazing. The only reason they didn't get five stars is because they were out of onion rings and I didn't get to try them. Maybe next time, and there will be...
