Byblos | Elmwood — Restaurant in Metairie

UPDATE: Son wanted to eat here so decided to give it another try..so happy I did..was delicious..I had the Mediterranean Humus (again)..yumm... he had the Grilled Salmon which he devoured happily..we shared the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp appetizer which I highly recommend..all so flavorful and filling. We topped it off with drinks....me a Cosmopolitan and him a Smokey Old Fashioned ( took a sip..really tasty and yes..smokey). Definately a great meal and changed my mind about this location...we will be back!!! Old review.....Ate lunch at Byblos Old Metairie about a week ago...it was delicious..Mediterranean Hummus to die for....Gyro platter..hubby raved about it and shrimp appetizer..yummmmm....well decided to do Byblos clearview for the family during the Saints game(Who Dat)...not the same...they forgot the sauce for the Gyro plate which made that meal dry...the homemade pitas were ok...the Alfredo that we added Chicken Shwarma to was good but not worth the $23 we paid...over all it was an ok meal but when you pay over $100 you expect better....planning an early dinner in the near future with my friends but it will be at the Byblos Old...

This was the most unprofessional and frustrating experience I’ve had at a restaurant. I will not be returning to this location. I placed a to-go order by phone and the hostess told me it would be 15-20 minutes for pick up. I arrived 20 minutes later and patiently waited for my food because I understood the restaurant was busy. After 30 minutes of waiting, the bartender explained to me that there was a problem with the computer and they were just starting my order. I waited for 20 more minutes and the food still didn’t come out. I asked to speak to a manager and he never came to see me. The bartender respectfully voided my order and apologized. I am deeply disappointed that they wasted my time and energy and did not offer a resolution. Voiding my order did nothing for me. I left hungry and sad after a long day of work. I just wanted to treat myself to a nice dinner and this almost ruined my night. You will not be getting my business again, and I’ll be sure to tell my friends and family of your terrible service. I don’t even know where to start with trying to explain how good this place is. The amount of times that I passed this place and never thought to stop in, I now regret. LOL. The atmosphere, the food, the service, the owner, EVERYTHING about this place is 5 stars!!! Hubbs and I had another date night here and Tarek, the owner, remembered us and I thought that was so personable. I hands down reccomend the steak kabobs. They literally melt in your mouth, no I’m serious. M E L T S in your mouth with each bite better than the last. And if you are a lover of key lime pie, theirs is a MUST TRY. It’s made fresh in house, actually all of their desserts are with the exception of the baklava. That key lime pie though, man that’s something special. The salad is soooo fresh and if you are a lover of garlic and ranch. Their garlic buttermilk sauce is to die for. JUST COME TRY IT. You won’t be dissapointed.
