Visiting Wishing Town was an amazing choice - every single dish I ordered was outstanding. I got to try quite a few items: the Fatty Beef Hot Pot, Seafood Hot Pot, Taiwan Shacha Beef Soup Noodles, Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf, Soup Dumplings, Teriyaki Beef Stuffed Tofu, Scallop Pocket Dumplings, Char Siu Tofu Pockets, their Baoger, and an impressive selection of desserts including the Matcha Mille Crepe, Lychee Chiffon Cake, Passionfruit Dessert, Coconut Milk Cubes, and Yuzu Orange Cheesecake. Every dish was crafted with care and packed with flavor.
No matter what you choose from the menu, you won’t be disappointed. The soup noodle broths were rich and layered with depth, the soup dumplings were more flavorful than those from larger chain restaurants, and the baoger was a delightful surprise - the bun stayed fluffy and soft even after cooling down.
Their desserts were beautifully inspired by Asian flavors, and every bite burst with authenticity. Each dessert truly captured the essence of its fruit, but my personal favorites were the Passionfruit Dessert and the Yuzu Orange Cheesecake - bright, refreshing, and absolutely delicious.

Read moreThe baked goods here are excellent. The matcha crepe cake is a personal favorite. Everything is very light and refreshing, not heavy at all. They often have seasonal items that are very worth trying.
I think that on the whole the food is also very good, but they have steadily cut down on their menu, presumably taking out the items that weren't selling as well. It just doesn't feel great to open up the menu and see 1/4 of it crossed out.
But the dumplings are pretty uniformly excellent, especially the dragon dumplings. I've fallen in love with the shacha chicken noodles, but the hot & spicy beef salad is also definitely worth your time.
My one big wish for this place is for them to invest in a drink machine, whether it be for regular soft drinks or for Boba. As-is, you have the option of a few bottled teas and bottled water. I understand why (space is at a premium), but it would be an awesome upgrade.
Speaking of space, though, it's quite small and if you come at a busy time it's very likely there won't be open tables for 30+ minutes. Just plan well...
Read moreWe came specifically to eat lunch here & pickup a couple bakery treats. The menu is in a state of flux right now so it's surprisingly small (4 types of dumplings total, soup dumplings with beef or pork, fried or steamed dumplings with beef or pork; a few chilled dishes with beef, salmon, or vegetables; crushed cucumber salad). The portions also aren't large, but it lends itself to eating several different small plates, like dim sum. However, all of these items are very delicious, especially if you love spicy & mouth-numbing pepper.
Yesterday we got a set of pork soup dumplings, a cold salmon & veg dish, and a crushed cucumber salad. (I only got a photo of the cucumber salad after we had already nibbled at it.) The salmon dish isn't particularly photogenic, but it was excellent; thin slices of fully cooked salmon soaked in soy sauce over a bed of chilled, stir-fried cabbage and onions. It was a light lunch, but it gave us room for desert (we split a slice of mango...
