I haven’t given a review for a while, but I felt like this particular Picadilly deserved a review from me.
So I’m on I 12 heading back to Baton Rouge when I thought to myself what am I going to eat tonight?
I know I’ll stop by that Piccadilly off of Juban Grab something to go and be back in my car in three minutes.
The only detail I had a little concern for was that it was 7:50 PM and they close at 8 PM and I’ve got about 6 miles to the exit .
I know I am cutting it close but it’s a buffet so the food is there cooked and ready to go as long as I make it before 8 PM I’m good . Not to mention it’s not even dark. The sun is still out for what that’s worth. :-)
So if anybody knows about the left lane, turning light on Juan Crossing going into Rouses the light last about a day and a half .
Bottom line is no big deal. I’m still going to make it. I literally drive up to the front door at 7:59 PM, I exit my vehicle and as I’m walking to the door, Piccadilly employee was leaving and I said can I still get something and she said I don’t know they may be locking it behind me.
So I get to the door I would say safely within 10 seconds of the young lady exiting the door and I don’t know if anybody saw me but if I had to guess I would say 60-40 they did.
So I looked through the glass and all of the food is still out and I try to knock in motion to the closest person to see if I could grab something to go real quick.
So I assume he pointed to the manager or whoever was closing the register out It’s a lady that is waving profusely to get my attention to let me know they were closed for business on that Wednesday night.
I immediately look at my phone to see the time and it is exactly 8:00 PM!!
Really?? Really?? Is this some kind of joke?
YOU’RE PICADILLY for goodness sake!
I’m the last of the Mohicans that still support you. Are you saying business is so good right now that you don’t need my $20?
The food is sitting there in trays and it would’ve taken me about 10 seconds to tell you my two sides an entree!
There are literally still customers that haven’t left yet and the food is just now being put up, but you’re going to try to make the argument that the register was being shut down !
Hey, I got an idea. I don’t know how about at least waiting until the food has been picked up and put up before closing out the register. ?
I’m sure it’s probably 45 minutes to an hour before everybody can leave upon closing No Doubt!
Having said that my point is that the food was still out? I never would have knocked on the door. Had I seen empty spaces where the food goes?
To be blunt that’s ignorant that’s just not good business and an inability to read the room . There’s not a line behind me trying to get in, but if they were behind me, shame on you twice for one to close at 7:59 PM .
Let me remind the person who waved at me and locked the door that Piccadilly did not build off of Juban Crossing so that you receive a paycheck… It’s not there for you to punch in and punch out so that you can receive income .
Any business exist to make sales, to make money a profit, etc. so you killed two birds with one stone tonight because you turned away $20 that would’ve cost you 90 seconds on your register but more or less important is the fact that you got a negative review out of the deal as well! A double whammy if you will!
In the future, I would ask that just a little bit of common sense rise up at the Piccadilly off of Juban Road
Just remind yourself who it is you work for and what it is they offer that pays your...
Read moreI just left the restaurant. I got a to go order with the roast beef and the au jus gravy. I asked for a Caesar salad to go and the older lady making the salads is very rude. She’s hollering comments at the workers she ain’t got time to talk to them or listen to them. As I’m standing, waiting for her to make the salads, several families turn around and walk back out of the restaurant because it’s taking her so long to make the salad. Then I move down to where the hot foods are and everybody’s just standing around and not serving people because they have no clean plates. Finally, my turn and the gentleman says do you have a to go order and I said yes I do and I told him I would like the roast beef with the gravy. He cuts three thin little slices and puts those in my to go box and I also said I would like mashed potatoes. He did not respond to me at all didn’t say thank you ma’am, no smile, no nothing, just pushed the box on down to the next person. Told her I would like mashed potatoes she put the scoop in the box. As I asked her to scoop another side in a separate box for me, the lady with the bread is questioning me. How many sides I have. The worker that is scooping the sides for me proceeds to tell the bread lady that is not her business. Just give her the roll. Then I proceeded to the checkout counter mind you it has been at least 20 minutes at this point. The check out lady prints the ticket and says I have to pay at the other counter. On my way out she bags the food, hand it to me and the gravy is running all into my bag with everything else that’s in the bag. Still have not paid yet! Finally get to the counter to pay and the cashier says she can get me some napkins to wipe the gravy off everything. Needless to say, I will not be going back to the...
Read moreMy mother and I went on the day of opening and that was the worst mistake we could make. Here is a short list of the cons (the majority of our experience):
Food was terrible: (bland, unseasoned, barely warm)
Management was not THAT friendly nor was the kitchen staff really informed: (Most of the kitchen staff did not know what they were serving, so any question you had on taste or even what was in the ingredients were just met with “I don’t know.” Then said staff proceeding to call over their manager/other staff to find out the answer ( which I do understand that sometimes you just don’t know a certain question and yes it is perfectly acceptable to ask for your manager’s help but this happened so many times, and some of the questions should have been general knowledge to staff.) Essentially they were not well trained on the restaurants offerings.)
Pros: There is only one. Our waitress (who was a first time waitress in the restaurant industry as a whole) was very nice and attentive. I hope she has found a better position because I honestly think her personality would be better suited for another restaurant.
Conclusion: We definitely will not be coming back to this establishment in the foreseeable future. For the price, you can get significantly better service and food at neighboring restaurants in Juban.
P.s. I would like to specify that the time of our visit was during the PM/dinner shift, I have yet nor plan to eat during lunch hours due to our previous experience...
