This the first bad review I’ve ever written for any business. I am not super hard to please. However, last night was my third (out of three visits total) unsatisfactory trip to this Sonic location. The first, I placed my order for Sonic Blasts for my family using the app, arrived and checked in. And sat...and sat...and sat. For more than 20 minutes. I finally pressed the button to find out the status of my order. I was told they had cancelled my order because their ice cream machines were down. No one told me. Not sure how long I was supposed to sit there before someone let me know. I chalked that bad experience up to the pandemic. Second time, ordered using the app. Again it took an unreasonably long time but it did come eventually, if a little melted. I reasoned that maybe they were running short-staffed. Last night was my breaking point. Ordered two blasts on the app. Arrived on time and checked in. Sat patiently for 20 minutes. Hit the red button. No response. Gave it another 5 minutes and was debating whether or not to get out of the car to go look for someone to help me. Settled for hitting the button numerous times until someone asked if they could take my order. Don’t know if they lost my order or just forgot to make it. Read moreIt's okay. They took awhile getting us our order because they ran out of one thing we ordered. They let us order something else instead. By the time we got our blasts, the ice cream had no whip cream and had melted, and the drinks were messy. Everything tasted fine, it was just messy when we got it. I'm glad I had napkins in my car.
Edit/Update: My husband and I have been here a few times more, and we get our correct order about half the time. Despite it taking longer, we usually sit at the stall so we can check our food before leaving in case something isn't right. We went there recently after not going there for awhile, and we didn't have the best experience. Their fryer was down, so over half their menu was out, which was very disappointing. However, the burgers we got were fresh and tasted decent, so that's a plus. Still, it took a while for it to come out. Had two burgers, a shake, and a drink. The price felt pretty expensive for what we got, too.
The stall will never be quick, although the drive thru is a little better. Still, at night, the drive thru is kind of creepy because there are no working lights from where you order to the window. Not sure if they were knocked out during Ida, but it feels very unsafe.

Read moreFirst off I tried to order a small combo. The girl that was helping me did not tell me that Sonic does not offer small combos and instead charged me for a medium and sent out a small. The screen also didn't work on the car hop station so I had to get her to read the order back to me. When I got the order at the car and questioned my receipt she (carhop, not sure if same as order taker) said that they do not have small combos. She took back my tots and not the drink to make it a medium. Also ordered the burger with light mayo, no tomato and add bacon. I got bacon but I also got 2 tomatoes and in no way light on the mayo and had to use 2 napkins to wipe it off. My question is why didn't I get told that there is not a small combo and was charged for a medium? Very unprofessional order taking. Sounded like was ruining her day for ordering at Sonic. Thanks for that feeling. I worked at Domino's for 6 years until I got out of the food service business and I have seen my fair share of horrible employee's. Never going to Sonic on Coursey again.
