TLDR: Take your money elsewhere, extremely rude staff with bad attitudes.
This was the first time I went to bittersweet and unfortunately it will be last time I go there.
I took my wife, son and daughter there to have a nice treat and drinks on my day off. I've lived near Louisville for years and didn't even know bittersweet was there.
So upon discovering there was another coffee shop in town we decided to try it out. When we got there the place seemed nice, clean and inviting. The first thing we saw was a bunch of pastries and cookies.
My 3 year old son of course saw the cookies and he asked if he could have one. I said yes and decided to grab one. This is where the problems began.
The cookies were in cookie jars right in the front with easy access to them. There was no signs saying please ask for assistance or please don't touch the cookies. So again thinking nothing of it, I grab a cookie and we proceeded to go to the register to pay.
When we got the the register the girl at the front very rudely said "next time don't reach into the cookie jar and grab them" as she scoffed like we were supposed to know that.
I can't describe in words how rude she was being and it made us feel very uncomfortable. After she said it, I was a little taken back but I wasn't confrontational because again I was trying to have a nice day off with my family.
I thought to myself oh maybe they had a sign that says not to grab the cookies, whoops I messed up. So we completely our order with her looking at us with distain. Again super uncomfortable, I wasn't even sure I wanted to complete our order because who knows if she would do something to our drinks.
I then went over to the cookie jars to see if I missed the sign. I looked all over and I didn't see anything that said not to touch the cookies.
At the same time my wife and kids were waiting for the drinks to be ready. My wife told me (after we left) that all the staff was talking crap about us for lack of a better word while making our drinks.
Again, super rude and unprofessional. Safe to say I won't be going back and I recommend anyone looking for coffee, food and drinks to go elsewhere...
Read moreThis adorable little coffee shop is tucked into the quaint little town of Louisville, and a must stop for your morning breakfast, mid morning coffee stop, lunch or afternoon pick me up! There are plenty of small tables inside to choose from, a cozy chair by the big window? Yes please.... Or perhaps a booth for you and your friends? This morning we chose one of the high top tables nestled in by the big bay window, also partly because the sun was shining and warming our backs as we enjoyed our morning treats! The professionally made espresso drinks were just the right temperature, silky and full of that much needed morning caffeine. On today’s menu for us was the Avocado Toast on Ciabatta bun with an added egg, as well as a made to order breakfast burrito complimented with a BlackBerry Italian Soda. Everything is homemade and delicious! The cakes and sweets were calling to us from the bakery counter yet we resisted and decided to save it for our next visit! Today was a cold and cozy one to be inside the cute little coffee shop but there is plenty of seating on the front patio to soak up all that wonderful Colorado sun once it starts warming up a bit! Baristas were friendly and welcoming. Will be...
Read moreOur intention was to go to another place that turned out to be closed, and this place sounded good. It was order at the counter, grab your drink, and sit to wait for your food. I was starved, so what I assumed would be quick, was great. Well, 20 minutes later, no bagel sandwich, so my friend went to ask and was told 10 more minutes. Fifteen minutes later, she went up again and was told still 10 minutes. Fifteen minutes later I went up - I am older as patient and was quite hungry an hour earlier. There was now a new girl behind the counter, and unlike the other, she was quite snotty. She said "soon, we're really busy". Huh? She said they were trying their best, and I replied, "no, you are not because a bagel sandwich shouldn't take an hour." And, the people next to us who came in 30 minutes later, had their food. The nicer one said it really would be just a couple minutes more. So, 5 minutes later I went back up and just stood there. She got my bagel out from the kitchen and actually tossed it at me (in a bag, luckily). I will...
