I am giving one star because I went there two times just to see animals. Both times, I did not get a good impression about how they treat those beautiful animals especially chickens. My First visit, it was in October last year, the pumpkin season, I was next to birds yard, enjoying watching them. Then suddenly this guy threw few watermelons in middle of crowd chickens, I understood that it was for feeding them but the way he threw watermelons was so careless and it could hurt the birds badly. The way he threw the watermelon made me feel that those chickens were there just for sale, I did not feel the care and love connection for those poor chickens from the farm owner. Then my second visit, just few days ago, it was very hot and sunny, I came across the pig yard next to birds yard, although the pigs were sleeping under the shade, their yard was too dry and all muds are dried up like a rock, I did not see any mud pond for them to play. There was one water container but it did not seem to reachable. Although I enjoyed the petting and watching other animals, one thing still stucked in mind was that, at the end, I was about to leave, I guess, they had customer who came to buy chickens, the way they catch chicken was pretty sad to see. i wish, they have a better way to catch them, it was scary to other birds. Thank god, I did not see the scene after they caught. I love animals and I would like to see happiness while they are alive. I just wanted express how I felt and I hope they will treat them...
Read moreOur favorite farm to visit because of their high quality meat and they are genuinely nice. Their beef is nicely marbled and has a nice texture because they hook hang, which is an old time way, that I prefer.
They have a meat CSA which is a nice option because they have chickens, ducks, geese, beef, pork, lamb, goat. To get special orders or any poultry, you need to be a part of their csa or friend of the farm, because it's Colorado law. It's $25 to put towards next year's chickens, and that amount goes towards your order. It's a little weird, but required because they can't sell it
They have basic veggies, things like my grandma would grow in her garden, things like beats, lots of squash, etc. They really focus on meat.
Bee hives are all over their farms, one right near our place so it's fun to see a bee pollinating our tomatoes and wonder if that's one that made the honey were having.
It's hidden gem...
Read moreA Wonderful local farm. An excellent choice for a day of family fun. 🙌 I got tickets through Groupon for the Pumpkin Patch Experience, a five-pack for $16 that alone is worth 5-stars for such a great deal! Cost includes everything except for pony rides, food/drinks, and the price for pumpkins. Pumpkins were roughly $8 for medium and $20 for large. My family was able to spend the day roaming the farm. Truly a hidden gem.
