I ate at cafe Classico for the first time a month ago. They had a sign on the door when we arrived stating they were closing early that day, they were closing at 3. So we went ahead and went in as it was was 2pm. When we walked in it felt awkward, we had never been there so we were just standing by the door while everyone stared at us from their tables. I had to ask the 2 young servers if we seat ourselves. I could tell they weren’t very busy, as there was only 3 other tables occupied at the time. Neither were welcoming by any means and it really just seemed as if they were annoyed and done with the day. I saw them stand around talking to each other and on their phones several times. We were never asked if we wanted anything to drink the entire time we sat besides the water they brought to the table when we first sat down. I ordered a fry appetizer and Caesar a salad with shrimp. The fries were good, but they are fries. When they brought my salad out they went to sit it down in front of me and there was chicken on the salad…gray chicken. It was not all the way cooked. I brought it to her attention that I had ordered shrimp anyways and not chicken so she takes it back. My friend even made a comment that the chicken looked undercooked or bad. She comes out about 7 minutes later with another Caesar salad with shrimp and as soon as she sat it down at the table the overwhelming smell of sour fish smacked both me and my friend in the face, it smelled so bad to the point it was making us sick. I figured no problem I’ll take the shrimp off. The issue with that was they never replaced the salad, just scraped the uncooked chicken off it and then put the shrimp back on. There was still chicken bits on the salad and the lettuce was warm and soggy. My friend ordered a panini and said it tasted like something you could get at Panera bread, just a basic tasteless panini. At that point I was just ready to go. I put the plate on the table next to us because the smell so bad. The server came and picked it up and didn’t even ask if something was wrong with it, as you could clearly tell it was not eaten. I am not one to ask to remove food items from my bill but when she gave me my bill, without asking if everything was okay, I went ahead and told her the salad was not edible, that’s why it was sat on the other table and kindly asked her to remove it. She did so without asking any questions about it. I grew up in Clifton and I really want to support local businesses, but my experience just made me never want...

Read moreThe coffe was delicious. I gave a three because the process of seating, ordering and paying is not clear. We walked in and they said hello and nothing else. So we walked up to the front and I grabbed a menu and we decided to sit to look over it before ordering. They then brought us water and another menu then walked away. We figured out what we wanted but were unsure if you walk to the front to order at the bar or if they came to you as they brought us water. 5ish minutes later they came and asked what we wanted and we ordered. While waiting other people walked in and also stood at the door unsure of what to do . They did tell them after a few minutes of awkwardness thy could sit anywhere. They brought our coffee to us and say they would be back to check on us. They never did come back.We finished our coffee's and as they had come to us we assumed they would bring check as well. After 15 minutes of sotting finished with our coffee's my husband went up to the bar and they did not say a thing just took the card and gave receipt. Great coffee, but unclear directions on if it is sit down or self serve. II would suggest putting a seat yourself sign out and a...
