Metro Diner — Restaurant in Louisville

First timers and we also have a service dog 🦮. Which they never even batted an eye. I think they could tell by her demeanor and behavior. Once we were seated she went right under the table and you never knew she was there until we were done. Our server (🧑🏽‍🍳 Alayjah) was at our table right away to get our drink ☕️🥛 orders, then gave us a few more minutes to check out the menu. She was very Pleasant as we told her it was our first time in the diner. She told us a little bit about the menu and then left us to look it over. When she noticed the menus were down, she came over to take our order. It didn’t take very long⏰ for our order to come up. The food was very good and the plates were full of great food, more than we could eat. We did take some left over food🥡 home for my breakfast the next morning😋. We will definitely be going back. The place is clean, the seating is not cramped together. You’re not bumping into the table next to you or having to listen to their conversations and they’re not listening to yours 🫤. It’s just really a nice place to go and relax and have a good meal. A Big Thank you to our neighbor for telling us about this diner 😉 When Alayjah brought our Togo box, she also brought our Bill, then as soon as we put our card on top of the bill, she picked it up and we were out of there within minutes. Alayjah is great server and stays on top of her clients. Was so happy to park in a parking lot and not on the street for this place! With that being said, let's get to the important stuff. The food and service 😋 walking in, this place was PACKED. Could barely get in the door but the smell alone made you want to stay and wait it out. The syrupy coffee goodness was delicious in the air. Got up to the front and she said it would be about a 20 minute wait. She asked for my phone number as I assumed it was to message me for when it was time. I went outside to get out of the doorway and was only out there for around 8 minutes since it was so cold before going back inside. She called several names and then eventually announced mine. I never saw her send texts to any of the other names but this is just an assumption. She very well, may have. Anyways, we get seated and menus and I'm salivating looking at the pictures on the menu and on the website. The kiddo ordered a cranberry juice, I wanted the speciality coffee of the day but the waitress told me that it was not good so I was glad she didn't let me waste my money and time on that and ordered just regular coffee as she said they press their own beans or something along those lines. Lol. We ordered the most cliche southern breakfast/lunch meal ever "Chicken and waffles 🧇 " but oh was it worth it! Belgian waffles with a strawberry 🍓 butter 🧈 and fried chicken 🍗. De-lish! Izzy provided truly exceptional service from start to finish. From the moment I sat down she demonstrated eagerness and understanding, actively listening to my dilemma as I have not been to Metro but one other time. I asked Izzy if the world was going to end in an hr what meal would you suggest. Confidently and quickly suggested Chicken and Waffles. Thank you Izzy as it was incredible. Her responsiveness and timeliness were impressive. ​It was clear that Izzy possessed deep knowledge and expertise about the menu. She answered all my questions with confidence and provided a solution that was both accurate and effective. The entire time, her clarity and communication were top-notch. ​What really stood out was her personalization and proactiveness. She didn't just solve my immediate problem; she anticipated a potential future issue and provided guidance to prevent all those she was serving around me as well.
