I think I saw this place mentioned on a college campus documentary once, hence I decided to stop by here on my way to the airport. It received a lot of great local reviews and has a long history, but I could kind of tell from what the pictures what to expect, and unfortunately it delivered against my low bar.
They haven't opened the dining room so it's all carry out. I ordered the #3 combo which is their 1 piece cod sandwich with a half order of onion rings and a drink.
First off, the service was friendly and there was no line when I was there. They make things fresh and the portions are HUGE. Even the cuts of the onion rings were large, not just the quantity.
The breading is pretty crispy and honestly that's all you can taste instead of the fish. The "sandwich" part is kind of misleading as it's more like BBQ and they throw a couple of slices of bread in with the rest. White bread and hot breading. Yeah. If that's your idea of a sandwich then this is your spot.
The onion rings were a little better as the onion taste came through the breading. The coke was a coke.
They have a fair amount of other options - most involving the fryer and more breading. Cost is comparable to upscale fast food so you won't break the bank. I doubt I'll return but don't regret chalking up...

PLEASE, Moby Dick, please offer delivery through DoorDash, UberEats, GrubHub, or maybe Instacart (?). Although there is 1 option (delivery .com, I think), I canât imagine anyone uses it. The price for a âBox for 2â is $36+, thatâs $10 more than the price in-restaurant.
â˘BOXfor2= 4 pieces of fish, 4 slices of bread, 2 servings of french fries and 2 hushpuppies, NO drinks.
Delivery .com then adds about $15 in fees, taxes, and more fees. Thatâs approximately $50 for a box for 2, and thatâs Before tipping.
Iâve loved your food since I was child when my Dad would take us to eat in, or when Mom would get an order on at least 2 Fridays during Lent. The employees are always polite, kind, respectful, and accommodating. I am disabled and without transportation. I live in the vicinity but for me, it's the same as being in another town. đ No shade, I just really miss it. Thank you if you read this...
Read moreI recently visited Moby Dick, and I was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable the experience was. The place has a casual, no-frills atmosphere that lets the food take center stage. I ordered the kabob platter with rice and a side of their cucumber yogurt, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The meat was juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the rice was fluffy with just the right amount of saffron flavor. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the meal felt hearty but clean.
Service was efficient and friendly, and the staff seemed genuinely invested in making sure everyone had what they needed. The only reason Iâm holding back from a full five stars is that the dining area felt a little cramped during peak hours, and it could get a bit noisy. Still, the food more than made up for it. Moby Dick is a great spot when youâre in the mood for something flavorful and satisfying without...
