Edit: I very much appreciate the consideration and response. Thank you for considering my perspective and attempting to accommodate. I am impressed with the ownerâs reply and understanding to my situation. I intend to return with my daughter at a later point following this response.
The cafe itself is very nice. However, if you have small children who donât follow directions easily, itâs probably best to take them elsewhere. I brought my 19mo daughter to play with the kittens. She loved seeing them get excited and play. She also, admittedly, became more excited by trying to play with their water, food and toys. However, I was right next to her every step of the hour we were there, redirecting her. I never want my child to cause problems for an establishment. I showed her how to be gentle, when to give kitties space, how to be quiet around sleeping kitties. She was not malicious and never hurt any of the kittens. One worker seemed very put off by my child simply being a child. My daughter isnât even 2 years old. She gets loud when sheâs excited and upset when I try to stop her from something she wants to do. This worker felt the need to tell my daughter to be quiet around the kitties, despite my constant monitoring, reminders to be gentle and quiet, and redirecting. This worker also came over to âshow the correct way to petâ. Again, sheâs not even 2. Sheâs learning fine motor skills. She doesnât follow directions the same way an older child would. This worker gave the impression of âplease take your loud child out.â I removed my daughter twice when I thought she needed to have some space. I respect that the cafe is open to children of all ages, but if the point is to have a quiet and calm atmosphere, it might be best to advertise differently. Being in the room with so many other people probably contributed to the chaos. Again, if the vibe is supposed to be calm and relaxed, Iâd suggest lowering the guests allowed per visit. I want my daughter to develop good habits around animals and learn how to be respectful towards pets. This experience did not feel accommodating to a small child who got excited...
Read moreWe came from Toledo, Ohio on a birthday trip and were so excited to visit our first ever cat cafe! Even when we first walked up, we got to stop and enjoy all the cats sitting in the window while we waiting a couple minutes for them to open. When we were let in, we were welcomed by friendly staff and the smell of coffee and pastries, and took a bit to peruse their amazing merch while getting our drinks and snacks. Everything looked amazing, especially the cocktails that I couldnât justify having at 10AM đĽ´. And finally, the moment we were waiting for: getting to go in the cat room. It was bright and welcoming with plenty of places to sit, lot of toys for the cats, and an abundance of climbing space, hiding spots, and beds for the kitties. Even in just an hour, you get to learn the personalities and names of these cats and really bond with them. All of them are adoptable through the Kentucky Humane Society, and getting to play and socialize with them really helps their chances of getting adopted! If we didnât live 5 hours away and have three cats already, we wouldâve taken Sheba home đ We even got to see 5 new cats arrive at the cafe and be welcomed into the new environment. When our time was up, we bought lots of merch (the sweatshirts are SO soft inside, and they have new âpurrideâ shirts!) and toys for our cats at home, and said our goodbyes to the sweet kitties. You can tell the employees and volunteers here love and care for these cats and the work that theyâre doing. If you love cats, this is the place for you! We even learned that they are the most successful cat cafe in the NATION! Plus they have a second location in Covington! Even if you canât go, you can support them online with donations, and even through their Amazon wishlist to purchase goodies for the cats. We will definitely be back whenever we can. Have a...
Read moreI stopped with two friends as a walk-in understanding that they were busy but asked if they had any time available to meet the cats they had. They were booked for a few hours with their kittens but mentioned that they were open for the adult cats immediately, saying that they need attention too. I was more than happy to hang out with the adults! Got an iced tea and got to spend some time with four very sweet cats. One immediately climbed in my lap for pets, something Iâll never complain about. The staff did a great job escorting my friends and I to the rooms, explaining the safety and security procedures (ie, be careful opening the doors because the cats will want to explore) and gave us plenty of time to move freely at our own pace. If I wasnât visiting from out of town, I would have put in an adoption request that day.
There were plenty of comfy places for both the cats and us in the rooms, toys to play with, and overall a clean and welcoming experience. This is not easy with the number of cats they have, but I was impressed. The tea was great and the other items on the menu looked good as well. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, and they clearly enjoyed what they were doing. Prices were also very reasonable, and the facilities outside of the cat rooms were well-maintained and organized.
It was also great to see on their social media pages in the following days how many of the cats and kittens we saw were adopted since my visit. I was especially happy that they let me know the one who climbed onto me had found a home after I asked.
I cannot recommend...
