I used to love this place the original OG’s that have been there make amazing drinks, but the new people need to take a couple classes do not tip until you taste your drink. I recommend bringing cash because the last few times I’ve had a new girl make my coffee, I would give them half the tip on card and I was going to tip cash after tasting my drink but every time they think you don’t tip they don’t make a good drink. I will no longer be tipping before I taste my coffee. Thank you for ruining my experience at my favorite coffee shop. Also, they talk very loudly about you not tipping so you can hear them all the way outside of the coffee shop at the window. Also, didn’t have the audacity to call my name over this and had me sit in there looking dumb still waiting again thank you for wasting my time! You get tipped off of the kindness of my heart and how well you make a drink, but not because you think you’re entitled or that you deserve it! I just wanted to make that clear we are going through a recession. Be lucky anybody tips anymore because you get paid hourly. You’re a barista not a server. Times are hard but even if you was a server and I had a bad encounter I would still tip because that’s courtesy. You are making a drink, not serving me food there’s a difference to somebody thinking they are entitled to my money! And I just can’t stand that next time don’t talk so loud and I won’t feel as if I need to share my opinion on my...
Read moreI'm a regular and live close by. Go often enjoy the crepes and the coffee. Walked my dog today to get some coffee and to train her a little more working towards service dog. There was a longer line than normal but the dog did pretty well but at the register I could tell they were rushing me. The person working the register even signed my name after I swiped my card without permission. My coffee was ready instantly and the girl that gave me the coffee asked if she was a service dog. I said not yet and she said "well we don't allow dogs in here". I apologised and left. It's a dog friendly street can't tell who's cool and who's not. Let's put up signs bardstown road!!!! Who's dog friendly or not dog friendly!!!! Safai you should of nicely asked me when I came in. Not, let me wait in a long line give me service and then advise me in a passive aggressive way. I would of let my dog wait...
Read moreThe coffee shop experience is back with Safai. They have great coffee and wonderful lattes if you are into those.
The space is larger that is seems from the outside. The environment fits about everyone. There are a few coves for more private enjoyment. They have plenty of table and chairs for working, studying or enjoy a chat with a friend. In the front more of the bar type seating when windows looking out on the cross streets. You always sit up front and be entertained by the people that pass by. Finally, when the weather is nice they have plenty of seating on the sidewalks. Base on the location you going to be able to find shady seating on one of the sidewalks.
If you only stopping in for a cup of coffee, they only have pour overs. No drip coffee. Of course, the pour-over is worth the wait but if there is a line you can wait a bit.
