Shenanigans Irish Grille — Restaurant in Louisville

I love Shenanigans. I've been going there for probably 15 years. It is just a neighborhood bar with an Irish theme and when I say a neighborhood bar, I mean it as it sits in the middle of the Deer Park neighborhood. The food is good and the beers are fine, but don't come here expecting a bunch of varieties of craft beer. There are only a few crafts from which to choose. There is a general sitting area with tables then a bar area, so during the day or early evening hours, it is also a comfortable place to bring your children for a bite to eat. Bellarmine University students have often used it as a hangout sitting in the table area while the older crowd 30s - 50s sit in the bar area. Interesting the mix but it draws a variety of people and ages from the neighborhood which is in the heart of the Highlands, a popular shopping and restaurant area in Louisville. Would give it 5 stars if there were better craft beers available and a few more...

Not good at all.

Went here on a date on a Monday night. When we arrived, the bartender told us to seat ourselves and a server would be with us soon. We waited and waited for someone to pay attention to us, with no luck. The servers hung out talking in the serving station back by the kitchen, and didn't make eye contact when they went past. One dropped a bill at the table next to us without even looking in our direction.

We left when a group that came after us were seated and served. When we stood up to leave, one server and the bartender stared without once asking us what was wrong or if we needed anything. The staff just don't seem interested in actually looking after guests.

There are plenty of cheaper options nearby with attentive, friendly service. I doubt...

We were waited on by Katelyn. My husband & son went to eat and watch the baseball play-off between Arizona & Texas. I went with my daughter and grandchildren to Boo at the zoo. My daughter dropped me off to drive the boys home. I had not eaten, and they attempted to get the waitress' attention, but she failed to appear before the kitchen closed. After I got there, I waited 20 minutes, trying to get her attention before approaching the bartender. She did put in the order I requested, but was inattentive, rude and yelled at me, claiming I was drunk when I requested a glass instead of a solo cup. We have been frequenting this establishment for years and have never received this treatment. If we ever return, we will not allow Katelyn...
