I have dined at the Taylorsville Rd/J-Town location several times and never had a single issue or complaint.
This was my 1st and LAST time ever dining at the Bardstown Rd. (Highlands) I š¤¬Tacos location...
My daughter and I ordered the exact same dish, the huge "burrito love".
Burrito Love Choice of Marinated Steak, Chicken OR Pork with Garlic White Rice OR Mexican Rice and Black OR Pinto Beans, stuffed with lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream and cheese, drizzled with chipotle red sauce
She had steak in hers, mine had, although it was a very little bit, chicken and I requested the cheese sauce over top, plus extra sour cream.
Hers came basically the way it was supposed to be made. It had a ton of onions in it though and very little meat.
Mine came out with nothing but rice and a tad bit of chicken, literally, not a shred of lettuce, not a baby spoonful of Pico de Gallo tomato, no sour cream, no beans; black OR pinto, and NO cheese inside!!
Absolutely nothing,... nothing that's listed as the ingredients on the menu for the burrito love... ...Except, the rice and chicken.
...JUST RICE AND CHICKEN!...
When our waitress finally came back to check on us, I told her how my burrito had been made, or how it wasn't made, and she literally responded to me with just an "OK"... Didn't offer to have it remade, or did I want something else. or even an offer to remove it from the ticket...
....NOTHING....but, "OK".... š¤Ø
SMDH !!! šš¤
I had only taken 2 bites, however I did inspect the inside after my 2nd bite, to see if there was anything else inside...
She came back again, about 15 mins later and I said "I didn't get any sour cream or the extra sour cream with my burrito, could I have some please? (which was included in the 1st round she made to us, when she asked if everything was alright)....
I wasn't going to make a fuss about it, I thought maybe the sour cream will make it better....
It may too, if it wasn't SOUR!!
It just poured out of the cup she gave me, no thickness to it in the least.
Last time she made her pit-stop I informed her the sour cream wasn't any good, ..same response..".OK"
STILL NO OFFER TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT...
I FIGURED SHE WOULD JUST DEDUCT FROM THE AMOUNT MY TICKET WHEN WE WENT TO PAY...
NOPE...
PAID FULL PRICE FOR EVERYTHING!!
Calls to speak with a manager we're not returned...
So, here we are...
There, I will never dine in, carry out or drive-thru order order from again...
You guys are the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve only been to the Bardstown Rd. location, but these are THE BEST TACOS IN LOUISVILLE right now. There, I said it. And I hardly ever write reviews of restaurants, but this place deserves some serious props. I get tacos at least once a week from various places such as Bandidos, Panchitos, Molcajete, Santa Fe, etc. And all those places have their place in the Louisville taco pantheon. But I Love Tacos is next level.
The striking thing is that everything Iāve had here is delicious. A lot of taco places have one or two things they do well, like carnitas or asada, but this place ābats a thousandā (to use baseball lingo) on everything Iāve had so far.
You have got to try the Birria tacos. Just get it. Donāt even ask what it is (itās brisket).
You can really tell that they really care about their food. Theyāre not just throwing some cheap cuts of meat on a store-bought tortilla and slathering it with government cheese. (Yes, their corn tortillas are made in-house.) There is some serious love and care in their preparation and you can taste it. Even their vegetarian options are creative, fresh and well seasoned. Not just some afterthought of a bean burrito or something.
The service is fine. The atmosphere is fine. The portions are generous. But none of that matters. Itās all about the tacos. (Can you tell I take this very seriously?) Next time you get tacos, skip out on Luchador and get to I Love Tacos.
And tip your wait...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOh how I love tacos! This was my first experience, it was delivery so can't comment on the service or atmosphere. Doordash did a terrific job of getting it quickly to my house. Unfortunately, I was missing an order of fish tacos in corn tortillas. Since Bazo's closed, I've yet to find a fish taco like theirs. The ones here are very similar. The amount of filling should be so that you can pick it up without having everything spilling out! The fish had a delicious beer batter coating and was moist on inside. The Baja type sauce was VERY good. It had red cabbage and red onions on top. The onions weren't mentioned on menu, I thought they were a bit strong, next time I'll remove a few. The burrito was also a winner, we had steak and chicken, everything was seasoned well and they are huge! My suggestion is to cover it with queso ($1).The queso is SO tasty, I liked the heavier homemade chips as well. A vegetarian Torta was okay, maybe a little bland, but not bad. Elotes were good, not too much mayo, the corn was cooked perfectly. I had to end with warm cinnamon/sugar churros filled with gooey caramel. The intention was to save half for breakfast, but that didn't happen. I found out that Ernesto Rivera is half owner. Twenty years ago I played music at both of his Ernesto's locations. He has been a supporter of live music throughout the years, and is a fine man who has helped many. It's good to see him back! We will be...
