This is one of my favorite restaurants in Louisville. The food is phenomenal! So many favors it’s incredible.
However, they really need to close reservations one hour before they close instead of 30 minutes before they close. This is my second time coming to the restaurant with reservations - once for brunch and once for dinner. Little did I know both times that the kitchen closed 30 minutes after my reservation on each occasion.
Both times the staff made it very clear with their unpleasant vibe to show you that they’re closing. This isn’t a diner or fast food place, but they expect you to be in and out in an hour. We just finished our meal and were promptly given our bill without an offer for another drink or dessert. M
After they closed we waited outside and we overheard them complaining that the guests expect them to stay open at midnight when the restaurant closed at 9pm. I definitely wouldn’t expect a restaurant to do that but this is a more upscale restaurant where the staff should behave more politely and professionally at...
Read moreOne name makes this a one-star review and that name is Maureen. We had made a reservation for four to dine for brunch. When we arrived, the reservation showed up as a reservation for two according to their system. The host went to get his manager to assess our situation and if they could accommodate. From the moment she greeted us, Maureen’s tone of voice was disrespectful. There was no dialogue to cause this, there was no attempt to rectify the situation in a calm manner. Her eyes were condescending and her gestures were catty. Although I asked her calmly when the next available reservation for four was, I paused and decided we would not give our business to someone who had been so rude. Her demeanor was completely unacceptable toward us and I will not be returning. I say this because we are understanding people; if Louvino could not accommodate us, that would be OK, however her behavior was in no way, shape, or form, any way one should act...
Read moreThis place is so cute, and the menu sounded so interesting. I wish I had liked it more than I did. My friend and I had got the baked Brie as an appetizer. It was way too sweet with more fruit preserves than cheese. Ok. Maybe we just had the wrong expectation. Then for the main dish, I got a wine flight and the Brussels sprouts. I was very satisfied. My friend, though, got the mushroom risotto, and it was inedibly salty. She asked the server (who I believe was a manager) to bring some plain bread so she could use the risotto more as a dip. The bread is really good by the way, but it didn't help calm down the risotto. The server offered to remake the risotto, but my friend had already lost her appetite.
If we had just gotten wine and Brussels sprouts, I might have left a raving 5 star review. However the brie and risotto were bad enough that I give a 3 star review and will not...
