Tomo Japanese Ramen Sushi — Restaurant in Louisville

Such a nice place to stop for lunch!! Small but in a cozy way, perfect fit for our party of four. I got the Galaxy Boba which was sooo yummy. We started with the shrimp shumai, kani salad, and rainbow roll. All three were absolutely delicious, especially the kani salad!! I highly recommend that for an appetizer. For my meal, I got the two roll sushi lunch special which came with miso soup which was pretty average but still good. My california roll and spicy tuna roll were some of the best I’ve had in the area, and the presentation is to die for!! I also tried a bit of my sibling’s chasu pork ramen and loved it. The only thing that I was slightly disappointed by was our food coming to the table in weird intervals so my sibling was eating their entree before the appetizers finished arriving. This is definitely more of a takeout place, though, so it really wasn’t a big deal.

I cannot recommend this place enough!! I will definitely be eating here...

I visited Tomo on the grand opening and ordered the Sweet Potato Roll, the Avocado Cucumber Roll, and the Peanut Avocado Roll from the classic roll menu, all of which were delicious and are Vegan as is. I liked them so much I even ordered some to go to take home with me! They also have a Mango Roll on the special roll menu which can be made Vegan by removing tuna and adding cucumber, which I highly recommend doing because my spouse ordered this and it was absolutely delicious! I ordered the Vegetable Ramen as well which can be made Vegan on request. I would recommend removing the bamboo shoots from the ramen when you order this as they have an overpowering taste if you’re not used to them but otherwise it tasted great! They were very busy when I went but the food was prepared in a timely fashion and I was satisfied with my meal. Have been there twice now. First time for their sushi and Boba tea. Second time for their Ramen. We liked their sushi and the brown sugar tasted great, but that Ramen was proper and amazing. It also looked identical to the menu photo... which may not seem like much, but it shows consistency. Make ya put down the phone until you can't eat anymore.

Service is top notch. I saw a steady stream of Door Dashers, and the lady at the front was already learning their names and politely chatting with them. When I got my Boba Tea the last time, about 30 minutes I got a call from the owner as he was concerned they over cooked the brown sugar and that I could come back for a free one. Since I thought it tasted great, I didn't worry about.

I really hope this place lasts. I'd already call it a hidden gem for the area and well...
