Let me start off by saying the food was very good, no complaints there. However, we were upcharged for substitutions for several entrees (e.g. rice instead of potatoes, allergy omissions) even though our waiter said the menu was fully customizable, we could have whatever we wanted, and didn’t say a thing about changes costing extra. We were also charged a corkage fee and a 3% surcharge (after tax) for using a credit card. No tap water also only bottled and the reason behind that was water quality coming out of Philadelphia so extra $ for water. Later I did see in the Google listing in small print the additional fees for using a cc and bringing your own wine but not being aware of all these hidden fees in advance left me with a bitter taste at the end of our meal. The restaurant was also very busy hosting a large party upstairs and since there’s only one entry point for the tiny restaurant it was pretty much a constant stream of 20-something’s opening the door and passing by our table which doesn’t jibe with the ambiance of...
Read moreMy wife and I had a Saturday night dinner recently at Dua. We opted to eat on the upstairs deck. It was very nice up there. Unfortunately a big storm blew in and we had to move inside. Luckily the staff was able to accommodate all the outside diners inside. The meal started out with some complementary bread with a sun-dried tomato and olive tapenade. Yummy. We had the Tzatziki appetizer. At $7 it was reasonably priced but it was nothing special. My wife had the pistachio crusted branzino filet at $29. While it was tasty there was absolutely no crust and no pistachios. We asked the waiter where the crust was and he replied that was how it comes. Odd to advertise a nut crusted fish with no nuts or crust. This entree was somewhat disappointing. My Greek Style Salmon at $27 was amazing. I would order it again in a heart. One of the best salmon entrees I have ever had. Cooked medium and super tasty. Dispute the uneven results I would...
Read moreWe are not strangers to Dua and its sister restaurant in Mt. Airy. However, we were very disappointed in our Dua dining experience last evening, 4/20. The waitress uncorked our wine bottle, placed it on the table with no intention of pouring the 1st glass. Rather than tell us about any specials,we were informed that they were out of branzino and aged rib eye. We ordered the paella for 2. Halfway through eating our appetizers, the hostess brought our entre to the table that was covered with our appetizer plates, and became annoyed and stomped off when we told her the table needed to be cleared first. The paella dish was nothing like the description in the menu as it was missing octopus, mussels and sea bass. I counted 3 small shrimp, and several small pieces of chicken.
Clearly Bledar has lost control of what was once a charming...
