I have to say, Turning Point Restaurant in Bryn Mawr was a major letdown, and I strongly believe the health department should pay them a visit. My dad and I were having lunch and decided to sit at the counter stools because the wait for a table would have been really long. Our waitress was great and very nice but clearly overwhelmed, so the service was slow, which is understandable. I have been a waitress before and I know the struggle. So on to why I'm giving this place a single star. First off, my dad found a hair rubber band in his salad. Yes, you read that right—a hair rubber band. Needless to say, he lost his appetite. Secondly, despite informing the waitress of my dad's Crohn’s disease and his need for non-breaded chicken, they brought out a salad with breaded chicken. I asked them to make a new one to avoid cross-contamination, but I don’t think they did because my dad is now violently ill. I suspect they just swapped out the chicken instead of making a fresh salad. To top it all off, they charged us for the entire meal after finding a hair tie in his salad. They did eventually remove the salad from the bill. We won't be going back because they clearly don’t follow basic health standards and were negligent about my dad's dietary restrictions. If you have any severe allergies, I’d steer clear of this place unless you fancy a trip to Bryn Mawr Hospital. On the bright side, at least the hospital is nearby! Make sure to pack your Epipen!

Food is freshly made from scratch and made to order. Came out hot and tasty. So much so i forgot to take pictures prior to cleaning my plate. Will definitely be returning soon, so pictures to come soon. Now on the return not as please. Everything to day was edible but not as spectacular as our first visit which had us running back. The first order of the seaside hash came out with overcooked eggs and undercooked shrimp which was pictured. The second come out fine but was just edible. The wilbur skillet which was topped with eggs that were overcooked as well. For a place that specializes in breakfast that is unforgivable. The potatoes or hash has inconsistent cuts of potatos which cause them to come out with different in texture and taste. Some of which were border line nasty. We don't intend on returning but we did thoroughly enjoy the french toast on our first visit so maybe. We went back against our better judgement, and were reminded why we said we wouldn't return. To be honest im not sure why but they attempted to serve my wife and incomplete dish with burnt bacon crumble pictured below when they brought out the replacement it was made the way it was supposed to be and was pretty good. Other than the specialty teas which are delicious everything else was just okay. But we are confident that this was their last try to make us repeat customers.

This restaurant Has to be the biggest failure I specifically ordered through DoorDash specifically stating that everything be prepared in a vegan manner the restaurant took no concern to anything as far as my health they did not care whatsoever for there to be a piece of disgusting ham in my power trip omelette, so I feel like someone must have put that there on purpose. It makes no sense for it to be there. They are not children sitting there playing at a playground. It makes no sense for them to make mistakes such as this, this is a professional establishment, If they don’t understand that then they need to find new staff that do you understand that or completely shut down the establishment if they are having quality issues it is deeply my concern that food, safety and food sanitary be taking the most serious if they don’t understand that then it is my deepest concern to deal with it. For the restaurant not to have as much concern or more for the food that they are preparing for me specifically as a customer. I understand quality food and I understand the price of time time is something you can’t get back these messages I’m sending the calories I’m burning by breathing this message into existence everything counts for something so a singular particulate could be off and it throws off the entire world🫵🏽 we live in a time of kings and queens!

Boy, I hate leaving negative reviews, but this needs to be said. We came here for brunch because they have an entire vegan section of the menu, which I ordered from after informing our server of my dairy allergy and egg sensitivity. After I began eating the waffle I was served, a manager rushed to our table with another waffle exclaiming "That's not your waffle, this is your waffle!" which, understandably, made my heart sink. I'm at people's mercy when one food item with an allergen looks exactly like another without; I trust restaurants that have an awareness of different diets (by having an entire vegan menu section, for instance) to be careful about ingredients! Fortunately the non-vegan waffles do not contain dairy, only eggs, so what could have been a very very bad situation with an allergen ended up being instead just an uncomfortable one with a sensitivity. When the check came we were shocked to find my meal still there at full price, and when my husband mentioned it to the server (who had remained entirely indifferent and not apologized through the entire incident), she said "You got the right food, what more do you want?" which was frankly appalling. The same manager who rushed the correct waffle out to me did discount my meal after we spoke with him, but I felt so uncared for by that point, it hardly mattered. This could have been a very serious situation, and it was treated as though it were simply a minor inconvenience. I so wish I felt I could safely return, as the food was delicious, but for me it's just not worth the risk. Perhaps including a small bamboo "allergen" stake in dishes prepared specially would help servers keep guests safe.

Edited to add: I reached out as requested in the business's reply, and never heard back. Further...

Went to the Bryn Mawr location today and did not have a good experience this visit. First let me start with the lack of greetings from the staff. We were left standing for 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Even though a female employee with a white shirt was at the counter area in front of us she was not enthused about working because she never acknowledged the crowd of people right in front of her. I have visited this location many times in the past and had a great experience. There were dirty dishes piled so high in the food serving window area while orange juice was prepared near them. This is health violation. While waiting I noticed several tables with dirty dishes on them which took about 20 minutes to clean one to seat us. The server was a 10 out of 10 and very pleasant and attentive but clearly overwhelmed. Even though the food was good myself and another family member had bacon pieces in our eggs. I lost my appetite after that discovery. We did not order any bacon due to food restrictions. The eggs were obviously cooked in the same area as the bacon. This is cross contamination and not good. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant was disgusting. The floors were dirty with food under the tables. We sat at a window table that had food under it and covered with ants. Our table was set with silverware wrapped in a napkin however there was only a spoon and knife. When our food was brought to the table by another server we asked for forks and the male server stated “let me see if I can hunt some down” . Another customer could be heard saying “they are short on silverware “. This is unacceptable for an eating establishment. However the female server was great but will not be returning to...

Very disappointed. I am vegan and my partner is vegetarian so we were excited to eat somewhere that has options for us. I ordered the healthy combo, which had an option to make it vegan on the menu. My partner ordered the Huevos Rancheros and asked for the chorizo to be subbed for beyond sausage. When our meals arrived (which took quite a while), my meal had vegan pancakes, but the sausage was NOT subbed for the vegan sausage. I could not tell if the eggs were Just egg or regular by looking at it, so I didn't risk it and sent it back. My partner's meal was also made incorrectly, with regular meat instead of beyond meat. When we sent it back, first the server denied that it was not vegan, then eventually said they would remake it. When the items were remade, they looked completely different (the round beyond sausage I was expecting rather than the tubular shaped chicken sausage I had definitely received before, for example). So clearly it was not correct before. The waitress proceeded to avoid us for the rest of the meal and we did not see her again until she dropped our check off. We were never apologized to by a single staff member. While we are veg for ethical reasons, we have both been following this lifestyle for so long that our bodies are not able to process meat anymore. If we had eaten our food without checking first, we definitely would have gotten severely ill. I am so so disappointed with the experience we had here. I can't believe we spent $50 to almost get sick and have an...
