The absolute worse customer service experience ever!
We were routine and regular patrons and exclusively booked through the open table application . On September 6, 2025 at 7:30 PM we arrived for our booked reservation. The dining room was packed, but we were seated quickly.
The food experience was mediocre but not unpleasant. Again, we frequent this establishment a few times a week.
We were asked by staff five times within 10 minutes if we were ready to leave. We were not ready to leave. We were not at the establishment more than 30 mins and there were several other parties at the establishment prior to our seating that we’re not asked if they were ready to leave or offered the check at all. WE WERE THE ONLY AFRICAN AMERICANS AT THE RESTAURANT.
I asked to speak with the manager who approached the table and listen to my concern. I advised the manager that the poor customer service experience left us feeling unwelcome, marginalized, dismissed, and unvalued.
I explained to the manager that this customer service experience isn’t a reflection of the inclusive environment of the Bryn Mawr community as well as established service standards in our area.
The manager was unresponsive, unengaged, and disinterested in the feedback I was providing. The manager thanked me for the information and walked away. We were left, feeling violated, diminished and unwanted. We decided that we would not patronize this establishment again and left.
Imagine my surprise when I logged into my open table application and learned that the management had deleted our completed reservation which impeded on our ability to leave a review sharing this horrific experience with our Bryn Mawr community.
I have verified via email that the application did in fact register our reservation. The only explanation as to why the reservation is no longer on the open table app is communicated in the second photograph sided below. You can clearly see where the establishment elected to delete our reservation instead of addressing this socially and humanistically unacceptable behavior.
I STRONGLY recommended anyone with any social justice or inclusion convictions to NOT support this bigoted...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped here after my daughters soccer game. We like to try new places when away from home. From the outside, Xolo looked really nice. They had an outside section as well that was also very nice. Parking is limited. Walking inside, it was cute as well. The guy at the front desk was awesome. He was a really nice guy, and made sure we had everything we needed.
My wife liked the margaritas. She said they were "light" and tasted good. They were not overpowering in regards to being sweet or a weird mix. However, they are going to set you back $12 each and are served in a 1/2 to 3/4 sized glass.
We were served a basket of chips and some green salsa when we first sat down. They were good, but I'm used to regular red salsa.
I ordered the tacos, and they were good. I'm not a fan of corn soft tortillas. I would rather the flour tortillas. Actually, I was expecting hard taco shells, but sometimes I like the surprise of what I get. I guess you could say I prefer the americanized tacos with tomatoes, onions, lettuce, sour cream, and salsa, but here I had chicken with cilantro and that was it. There was a side of their green salsa I had with the chips, but that is definitely not what I wanted to put on my tacos. I would not order them again unless they came with all the sides. At $12 for 3 small soft tacos, I couldn't imagine what it would come to if I asked for all those sides.
My wife ordered the enchiladas. She loves the rice and beans that come with the enchiladas. I'm not sure why she doesn't just order a plate of rice and beans when we go out. Lol... Again, the enchiladas were on corn tortillas and plain with just chicken in them and some red sauce that reminded me of pasta sauce a little.
Like I said earlier, maybe this is the way this food should be, and I'm used to the americanized way with a bunch of toppings. The chicken was tasty, and my wife said it tasted more like dark meat than white chicken meat. All in all, the place is nice, the people are great, but for us, it wasn't the type of Mexican food we were...
Read moreI do not even know where to begin. I pulled over in the parking lot (not PARK, pulled over with my car still running) because there was a book right in front of the restaurant that I almost ran over. It was a hazard, and I didn't want anyone else to hit it or come across and issue with it. Also, it was just unsightly to begin with, it was litter. As soon as I exited my car, which was still running, a man (could have been the owner but I'd really hope the owner of an establishment would not behave in such a way) runs out of the restaurant and yells at me for stopping my car in the spot there. I said "I'm sorry there's a book in the middle of the road in front of your restaurant I just didn't want anyone else to run into it" and he continues to tell me to move my car and yells at me. Trust me, I understand that parking in this area is an issue and he must be tired of it but learning how to control your emotions towards the issue or contacting someone who can actually do something about it might be a better course of action than yelling at a girl for stopping her car to pick something up from the road. I continued to explain "I'm sorry, I've been a customer here before I just want to get the book from the road." He continues to yell at me and eventually walks away and shakes his head. The whole situation could have been addressed with kindness from the get go. Everyone gets frustrated but there is a way to go about things and a way to treat people, especially ones that have supported the business for a few years. I made it clear I have been there before, multiple times. This was the place where I had my first ever alcoholic drink and where I went with my friends a lot. It was monumental and important place to me and the food is really good but what happened was disappointing and undeserving. Please don't do this to anyone again - even if they are there for "bad intentions" just be kind. I wanted to pick up a hazard in the road in front of the establishment. Not everyone is...
