So I have literally not eaten anything all day long, and I'm starving. I had just finished dropping off my 3rd instacart delivery (I'm essential too!) and suddenly I get a craving for a combo #3 with a Baja Blast, my favorite. I'm new to the area so I bring it up on my GPS and drive two miles to the closest Taco Bell, which was this one. The drive-thru line is literally spilling out onto the street so instead of contributing to the problem, I decide to park and get some service hopefully inside. We are in the late stages of the covid-19 pandemic I've literally eaten inside 4 to 5 different restaurants already, I figured at the very least, I could pick something up. To my surprise they have altered the architecture of the Taco Bell, and converted the entrances into windows, like you would find at a BBQ Shack. So I'm at the side door and a sign says "pick up for mobile orders and delivery only". There's a woman standing there who is waiting for her order, and I asked her, "Can you place an order from this window?" She told me this is just for pick up but around the other side there's another window that she thought you could place an order at. So starting my trusty covid-19 mask, I walk around the building and look up to see a giant banner stating "WALK UP ORDERS AVAILABLEAT THIS WINDOW NOW". I'm psyched, because I don't have to download an app, or get back in my car and get into the really long line at the drive-thru. I wait patiently after pressing a bell, the window opens up and they hand some drinks to another customer that was standing at that window and they are giving her one extra for some reason that she didn't order (I'm assuming they were handing her the wrong order I worked in the restaurant industry for 18 years, if the drinks are wrong there's a good chance your food is too). So after they finish handing this woman her order or Miss order, I politely ask if can I get a combo number three with a Baja Blast please and the girl says "you can't order from this window." And I say in a polite, but confused tone "But you got a big banner up here that states that I can?" She responds "We can't because of covid-19". "But your sign says" I step back and I start to read the banner out loud, but all I get out is "Walk up orders..." and she just slams the window and walks away. As I write this I'm now sitting at the 1165 S Trooper road Taco Bell finishing up one of the freshest best made combo 3's I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying, and realizing the only 2 reasons I'm still writing this is A, if I was this franchise owner I would really like to know how my investments to protect my workers are being handled, and respected, and B. I hope the thin young woman wearing glasses working the front window at 2:10pm today gets the lesson in customer service she desperately needs. Now I'm gonna hit This Trooper Rd Taco Bell up with 5...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE. THIS LOCATION OF TACO BELL IS TRASH.
I don't do fast food but when I do I pick taco bell because they have lots of vegetarian friendly options. The last few times I have gone to this location they put "beef" on my food after charging me extra to sub beans, even after I mention the substitute was important to me because I'm meatless. They repeatedly said "yea, yea, I got you. Ok, ok," so I foolishly didn't check it until I drove off.
When I called back to get the meal fixed they refused to answer the phone. Maybe they were having a busy night. So I called back the next day and some girl hung up on me multiple times, then on the last attempt she put me on hold and talked about me for 15 minutes, then got her boy to pretend to be the manager and tell me I needed to bring the food back to get a replacement. What kind of idiot holds onto food they can't eat? Not this one.
On top of that, if you pay cash, the person at the window will short your change and hope you don't notice. When you do notice he will play dumb and will refuse to give you an itemized copy of your receipt. So unless you want to waste your time coaching some kid on how to count with "I gave you a $20. This a $5 with three $1s. 5, 6, 7,8. You still owe me change," only for him to pull your other $5 out of his pocket, just pay with a card.
I tried to give this location multiple chances because I've worked fast food before and I get it; minimum wage calls for minimal work and bad attitudes. But if I'm choosing to spend my money and wreck my body with you the least you can do is make the food right and give me the right change. You have a computer in front of you!
