I have NEVER had an experience like this at any other restaurant.
I came to dine in this past Saturday at Italian Affair and was presented with only the take out menu. Upon ordering and eating, the server ran my card and I noticed I was overcharged by about $6 ($24 vs. $18). I brought this up to a man at the register, and he explained that the prices are different for dine-in because the "pizzas are a little bigger." The sizes of the pizza are listed on the menus.
I explained that I was never offered the dine-in menu, and asked for a refund. He begrudgingly looked at my receipt and tossed three 1 dollar bills towards me. I explained that this wasn't correct, so he told me that he "does the same grade school math that I do." This exchange continued until I pulled out the calculator on my phone to show him how he was wrong. He was incredibly rude towards me, saying things like "You gave me the wrong receipt" (I gave him the only one my server gave me) and and "you ordered a soda" (I didn't). I finally got the money back I was deserved, and he told me to leave. This whole exchange was antagonistic and unprofessional. He also asked me to keep my voice down. I assume he wanted to make it seem like I was being unruly. I was speaking very calmly.
After tipping my server, I noticed a man standing over me, glaring at me. I asked if he was the manager, which he said he was. I began to tell him about my exchange, in which he responded that the "dine-in menus are on every table." I explained they weren't on my table, to which he told me "that's impossible." I asked him if he was calling me a liar, to which he responded, and I quote, "Get out of my store before I bash your skull in." Mind you I was NOT being rude in any way, merely expressing my dissatisfaction with the service I received. I told him he wouldn't do that, because I knew he wouldn't, in which he started inching towards me threateningly. At this point my temper got the best of me. I flicked him off and left. He was behind me the whole time threatening more violence.
I was not unruly. I was calm, cool and collected. And for bringing up this concern I was treated with the utmost disrespect by being told I couldn't do math and by being physically threatened. No business should be run like this. And it's a shame, because the pizza was very good. I see other's have complained about their customer service, too.
Do not dine at this restaurant. Customers should not be...
Read moreI use to go here years ago and I remember it was really good. I just revisited this place as of Aug 3rd 2023 since 2019. I couldnât wait to sit down have a nice dinner. If I could give this place a zero I would??? I ordered Chicken marsala!!!
The chicken was thick, hard and extremely chewy. đ€ź They gave me a tin container and itâs look like masala soup with mushrooms. I looked at the chicken. It was literally two whole breast, not cut and grilled.. Who grills chicken for masala. Any smart chef would know if you grill it itâs going to be tough and chewy. Then tossed it a what I calls soup masala. did not even cook the chicken with the masala sauce. In all my year, this was by far the worst chicken marsala Iâve had in my life.. I literally filled myself up with bread and the masala sauce soup. I told the front counter girl, and the man that was working behind the counter that I was unhappy with this order.. His only answer to resolve this matter was that he will let The Cook know. Who does that in the restaurant industry. No one ever offered me anything else or any compensation for what I ordered.. they did nothing and just let me walk out the door. Didnât even apologize. If he handled the situation in a different manner, I wouldâve reconsidered coming back and trying something else but just the way it was handled was completely stupid and foolish on his part. Now when people tell me about this place I will tell they donât eat there and they will tell 10 others and thatâs how you loose business. Some people just donât belong in the restaurant industry and have zero common sense. I literally tossed the food in the trash. A $23.00 lesson learned and I will never go back. I give it zero stars if I could!!! Donât wast your money and go to Little Itaily in wildwood crest get early bird special from 4pm to 5pm. Food is amazing and really...
Read moreI ordered delivery tonight, girl answering phones was short, didnât confirm address after I gave my phone number, asked if I was done after every item and never read the order back. I thought the total was a little high but I get it with inflation, what I donât get is how they go about conducting business. When I received my food I was charged for & received Chicken Alfredo with fettuccine when I ordered penne Alfredo and cheese fries when I order just French fries. After realizing the mistake I called back and explained the situation to 2 different employees then a third gentleman took over the call. He was extremely unprofessional saying next to nothing, I had to ask him how he was planning on remedying the situation and to that he replied Iâll tell the owner but I donât know what you want me to do, our orders are always read back so thatâs on you. I said no one read it back, she was short and quick to get off the phone but he argued back saying thereâs no way. When I said well can you make the right food and bring that back to swap or can I get a refund, he just repeated over me I donât know what you want me to do 3x and threw a cuss in there then loudly said well you have a nice day and hung up on me. Eventually the owner, Vito, called back and apologized, which was greatly appreciated, said theyâd remake the food at the difference if I came back or give me a full refund. Still having to drive back out to return food made incorrectly, having 3 employees put me on hold & hang up on me after being rude and 2 call backs from the restaurant trying to fix it, is not a vibe. Saw the other review where they argue back with the customer & im sure thatâll happen to me but im just putting this out there to hopefully save someone else from wasting their money &...
