Have ordered pizza here for a few years now. Quality is normally ok to good but at times it is inconsistent with uneven crust thickness and varying topping amounts from week to week. Having said that, tonight was a total disaster and likely a game ender for me. I called and ordered 2 X-Large pepperoni pizzas for pickup, gave my name and phone number, was given the price with tax, and was told 35-40 minutes they would be ready. That was at 4:48PM. My wife went to pick up the pizzas at 5:30PM and was told there was no order there under our name. She was told they had no record of the order. She came home and told me and I was livid. We were all hungry and tired and wanted supper. I called back to complain and was told the same thing, until the person then realized she misheard my name and wrote it wrong and our pizzas were there and I could come get them. I said no and wanted 2 fresh pizzas as it was already over a half an hour they must have been sitting there. After much arguing I was told they would make me 2 fresh pizzas and it would be 30-45 minutes and hung up on me. I called back immediately and said I would be over in 15 minutes for my FRESH pizzas. This was at 5:52PM per my call logs. I went over at 6:20 to pick them up. I was given two "fresh" pizzas that were on top of the HOT ovens. If these were two fresh pizzas, they must have gone from the ovens to the fridge and back as the grease and cheese was already congealing. Needless to say, I was in no position to refuse the pizzas right then as they were our supper for tonight. I reluctantly paid for them (wasn't comped or even offered a discount for their screwup) and went home to eat my cold "fresh" pizzas. Cripe, I had to nuke my slices to make them palatable. It is very unlikely we will be buying any pizza or other food from Pizza Man's Pizza for a very long time, if ever again. There are just too many other pizzerias in the neighboring area that offer quality product and superior customer service to spend my hard-earned...
Read moreThis is not the first time something like this has happened when I’ve called to try and place an order….I called repeatedly to place an order and the line was busy. After calling repeatedly, I finally got through and was told to hold…and after a few minutes, I was hung up. I called back repeatedly again, and was again told to hold. This time, I was literally on hold for nearly 30 minutes…the only reason why I went through all this effort is because my children really like their pizza and they were really upset when I said I wanted to hang up and order from somewhere else. So, after holding for that long, with no one getting on the line and giving me any information, or letting me know that they were busy and would get to me, I was again hung up on. While I appreciate a business being busy, and I also appreciate that many businesses are having difficulties with staffing shortages, this is simply unacceptable…even if someone got on the line and let us know that they were busy and it would be a few minutes, I could understand….but to leave us on hold, with no updates, and then have the call disconnected….I’m remarkably disappointed at these repeated experiences…and despite informing them of my experiences, there was never any effort to make things right, not even a “we’re sorry that happened,"….I make a concerted effort to support local businesses as much as I can, but I simply can’t support this business anymore…we will be ordering exclusively from Santo’s...
Read moreI’ve always been a huge fan of Pizza Man’s Pizza, it is easily one of my favorite local restaurants in the Johnstown area. But recently me and a friend had a horrible experience. We called at 8:15-8:30 PM on a Monday trying to get in an order before they close at 9. We called several times and no one ever answered. So we show up at around 8:45 and we’re told they can’t make any fresh pizza because the ovens are off (even though we called 30-45 minutes before they close in hopes they could’ve made us a fresh pizza). So they gave us five cold slices of a margherita pizza and charged us $15.90 for it which I believe is the price of a full pizza, which obviously we shouldn’t be charged full price for 5 slices of cold pizza, let alone a style of pizza we did not even want to order. We were also told the pizza could not be heated for us. That would be understandable if the pizza was given to us for free or for a low price, but for nearly $16, I could’ve easily went elsewhere and gotten a way better meal for the money. I am giving three stars being that I’ve had great experiences here in the past, but it’s definitely not a five star rating from me given that this experience definitely made me a little frustrated. Also, if anyone is questioning why I waited that late to run and order, I work and hour and a half away from Johnstown and sometimes do not get...
