We really wanted to like this new custard place. The first time we went we ordered a small size of one of the items off the menu, funnel, I think, and something else. It seemed a little pricey at $12.63 for two items (I looked it up), but it was good and we both said we ate too much. We went tonight and both ordered a small size of just custard and one topping for me, two toppings for my wife. The total was $10.33, which we assumed was because we didn't have all the add-ins of the menu items. We were shocked when the girl at the drive thru handed us a TINY cup of custard. I asked if it was the small, which the menu says is 12 ounces. She asked a girl behind her who said yes, that's the size of just the cup - FOUR ounces. I said, "I realize the sign probably isn't your fault, but you need to fix your sign. We were expecting the same size small we got last time." She did apologize and again said that was the size for just the cup. We had it finished before we were off the parking lot. The toppings we paid extra for were indeed "toppings" and were gone off the top in 2 spoonfuls. The first time through, we ordered items with several more ingredients, but they were pre-listed on the menu rather than us selecting our toppings. We got THREE times the amount of custard and more ingredients for $1 moreper item than we paid this time. Five dollars, or whatever it is since the price isn't on the menu or at least not correctly, is FANTASTICALLY OVERPRICED for four ounces. It was almost $1 per bite. The apology, but absolutely no offer to make it right, did little to help. We felt like we had fallen for the old "bait and switch.' Add our name to the list of people who will stick with our tried and true J's Creamery. A local company with cheaper prices and better products. Oh, and they tell you right there on the menu what you're going to pay and how much you're getting. What a...
Read moreBad experience, poor leadership. My wife and I went to this location on their opening day. I understand that it was very busy, and it was their opening day. However, it will be a very long time before l ever go back, if at all. I tried to order a very simple drink, with only one ingredient (which was listed on their menu) - Reese's (peanut butter cup) flavored Malt. The young lady at the register told us they could not do it, that they didn't have that ingredient. Even though we could clearly see it as a topping in the bins in front of us, and it was on their menu, she told us they did not have it. Even after asking the manager if they could do it (which he said yes) she still said they did not have it and could not do it. So, I decided not to get anything, because clearly, I was frustrated that they are refusing to sell me something on their menu, so I now want nothing from them. My wife ordered something ( cannot remember what it was), and the total came to $10.80. I paid with a $20 bill. The register apparently did not display the change I was supposed to receive, so the cashier asked the manager for help. The manager then told her "The change is $9.20, its simple math, use your head". He then looked at me, and stated, "Kids these days" and rolled his eyes. I immediately realized the issue here was not the cashier, it was clearly poor leadership. This "leader" was rude to his employee, spoke to her in a clearly insulting tone, then rolled his eyes about her - all in front of her with her watching. I have no idea what experience this person has with management and/or leadership, but he clearly is a poor leader. Instead of insulting her, he should have helped her. I am saying this as a person who has been in a leadership position for well over a decade. This poor example of leadership is the reason I will not go back to...
Read moreThis is my second time here and sadly customer service is still lacking. They had just opened the first time I went so I brushed it off. I stopped by yesterday on my way home from work to purchase a ready made ice cream pie or cake for my husband for his birthday. The service was highly lacking and I was the only customer there. The cakes and pies are located right next to the register. A group of young ladies working there noticed me, but continued talking instead of asking if they could assist me with anything as they could clearly see I was looking at the pies and cakes which were not labeled with flavors/toppings. I had to ask them about the pie I was interested in purchasing and they clearly were unsure about what flavor it was. I went ahead and purchased the $40 pie which was pretty expensive for a pie. Unless customer service changes, I will not be back. I will go to The Ruffled Cup or J’s Creamery. With all of this said, the pie is very good. I don’t mind splurging and spending $40 (or even more) on a pie or cake for a birthday, but will go somewhere where customer service is better. I have worked in sales/customer service for well over 15 years. Sadly, it was a pretty...
