Visiting Lubbock for work and decided to try this BBQ place out. To preface this, I had dinner take-out two nights in a row, both similar time of the evening. They didn’t seemed to be too busy at the time but I could be wrong.
I really enjoyed the food and was pleasantly surprised during the first time. Unfortunately, the second time was a huge let down. I wish I could give it 2.5/5 stars but decided to just round it up.
Longer honest review below:
Day 1: Three meat plate - original sausage, sliced moist brisket, and pork belly. Extra side order of 1/4 ribs. Sides - cream corn, green beans, and TX toast. Condiments- sauces, jalapeños, onion, pickles, and cherry poppers. Drink - half/half tea (I was clearly starving 🤣)
I had originally ordered pork belly with the meal but when I arrived at the drive-thru, the kind worker informed me they had sold out for the day (was looking forward to it the most). So I had it replaced with extra ribs.
Once I got back to the hotel (10min away), it was still very warm and overall tasted phenomenal. Brisket was moist and not too fatty. OG sausages were tasty and juicy. Ribs were a little bit on the saltier side than I’d liked but not too bad. Portions were great. Sides were excellent (toast could’ve been a tab bit crispier). Condiments were good as well, except they forgot the cherry poppers. They did only give me one BBQ sauce cup which I had to sort of ration it as I’m eating lol. Lastly, the tea was just okay.. I know I got half/half but it tasted quite watered down.
Day 1 overall rating: 4.5/5 —————————————— Day 2: Three meat plate - chicken quarter (dark), habanero garlic sausage, and pork belly. Side - Mac n cheese and toast Condiments - sauces, jalapeño, onions, pickles and cherry poppers. Drink - sweet tea
Now..because I REALLY wanted to try the pork belly and plus the overall great dinner on day 1, I decided to give this place another shot - two nights in a row which is really rare for me.
To start off, the food was lukewarm minus the Mac n cheese. Chicken was very dry making it hard to eat and the skin was oddly too crispy with minimal moisture. Had to dunk it in BBQ sauce to get it down. Habanero garlic sausage was also dry and it didn’t help that it was not warm at this point. Felt like both the chicken and the sausage were old and have been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. However, the taste was actually present and decent for the sausage. Pork belly was pretty tasty except they had only given me like maybe three (smaller) pieces. Toast was flavorless and sad. Mac n cheese was average. I did ask for extra sauces at the drive-thru so I had plenty of those and they also remembered my cherry poppers this time lol. Last but not least, the sweet tea was great! Nothing home to write about but better than average in my experiences.
Day 2 overall rating: 2/5

Read moreMy wife and I decided to sit down and have supper. Usually we just stop in and grab a sandwich through drive-through but we had more time this time. When we ordered everything seem to be good but when they brought the food it was just disappointing. The portions have gotten very small On the two meat deal. My serving of brisket literally look like a sample at Sam’s Club. My wife had the same but hers was a little more. I asked The server if there is a reason the brisket is serve cold But he said there shouldn’t be, and he took it back. When he came back with it, it was the exact same brisket, but just microwaved. Needless to say, I wasn’t very impressed with that. I thought they’d replace it altogether not just warm it up in a microwave. My wife serving was dry. She couldn’t finish it so I had to put a ton of barbecue sauce on it too moistened it up. I usually don’t have a problem with their sandwiches. But with what we pay and what we got. I just was left disappointed. It really felt like a leftover barbecue from the night before. Just heated up in a...
