The turkey I ordered for my kid’s meal is extremely dry. We came for the chicken but the lady said they were out of chicken and ribs. We were about to walk out but decided to stay since we wanted peach cobbler. After we already paid and sat down at our table, the lady notified us that they were out of peach cobbler. I mean things happen right? But when we got our food, my apple cobbler was room temperature, turkey was dry and cold, my brisket which I ordered moist, was also dry. I ordered the rosemary French fries since my husband ordered it in the past and I really liked it. However, I was served only regular fries which was also cold and unsalted. Mind you, we were the first ones to walk in for dinner. The place was empty so there was no reason for our food to be cold. Obviously the fries have been sitting there for awhile then it was served to us. I probably wouldn’t the complaining about this if it was at some cheap fast food chain. We paid $50+ for some meal that we could have just made at home while blindfolded. No wonder why the place was empty.

I ordered a two-meat plate for lunch, but when I got home it looked more like a one-meat plate. The brisket only covered a small portion of the tray, while in the pictures it shows brisket covering both sides when you order two meats or at least two complete rows of meat. I called the restaurant and was told to come back so they could give me the rest, but when I arrived the girl serving the plates tried to convince me that I in fact got the two-meat (though it clearly only looks like a one-meat), insisting I had received the full two-meat portion. I explained that it looked nothing like the photos advertised, but she continued to say it was correct. I wanted to share this so management is aware — the serving I received did not match what is shown in the pictures or what I expected when paying for a two-meat plate. Yes I did show the pictures in person to compare but was still told it was a two-meat. Also I paid for lean brisket but when I got “the extra” I did not receive the lean brisket I believe I paid for.

Grabbed dinner for the family on my way out of town. Got home (an hour and 1/2 later) to find that I paid for 3/4 lb of brisket but really only got 6.5 oz. And don’t even get me started on the “16 oz” of pickles or “8 oz” of cherry peppers and jalapeños. Seriously, in what land do you pay for 16oz of pickles and get 2.2oz??? Paid for my order at 7:35, was handed everything bagged up. Got home at 9:05 to find we’d been cheated and tried calling but no one will answer because it’s after 9:00pm. I know I should have checked everything before I left but kids were in the car and I was just trying to get us home so we could get ready for school in the morning. But bottom line is I shouldn’t have to double check the order. There were 3 tables of folks in the restaurant and no one in line; the workers weren’t too busy to do their job correctly. I spent $114.93 and will never do it again! And yes, I was mad enough to get my scale out and weigh things.

Visiting Lubbock for work and decided to try this BBQ place out. To preface this, I had dinner take-out two nights in a row, both similar time of the evening. They didn’t seemed to be too busy at the time but I could be wrong.

I really enjoyed the food and was pleasantly surprised during the first time. Unfortunately, the second time was a huge let down. I wish I could give it 2.5/5 stars but decided to just round it up.

Longer honest review below:

Day 1: Three meat plate - original sausage, sliced moist brisket, and pork belly. Extra side order of 1/4 ribs. Sides - cream corn, green beans, and TX toast. Condiments- sauces, jalapeños, onion, pickles, and cherry poppers. Drink - half/half tea (I was clearly starving 🤣)

I had originally ordered pork belly with the meal but when I arrived at the drive-thru, the kind worker informed me they had sold out for the day (was looking forward to it the most). So I had it replaced with extra ribs.

Once I got back to the hotel (10min away), it was still very warm and overall tasted phenomenal. Brisket was moist and not too fatty. OG sausages were tasty and juicy. Ribs were a little bit on the saltier side than I’d liked but not too bad. Portions were great. Sides were excellent (toast could’ve been a tab bit crispier). Condiments were good as well, except they forgot the cherry poppers. They did only give me one BBQ sauce cup which I had to sort of ration it as I’m eating lol. Lastly, the tea was just okay.. I know I got half/half but it tasted quite watered down.

Day 1 overall rating: 4.5/5 —————————————— Day 2: Three meat plate - chicken quarter (dark), habanero garlic sausage, and pork belly. Side - Mac n cheese and toast Condiments - sauces, jalapeño, onions, pickles and cherry poppers. Drink - sweet tea

Now..because I REALLY wanted to try the pork belly and plus the overall great dinner on day 1, I decided to give this place another shot - two nights in a row which is really rare for me.

To start off, the food was lukewarm minus the Mac n cheese. Chicken was very dry making it hard to eat and the skin was oddly too crispy with minimal moisture. Had to dunk it in BBQ sauce to get it down. Habanero garlic sausage was also dry and it didn’t help that it was not warm at this point. Felt like both the chicken and the sausage were old and have been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. However, the taste was actually present and decent for the sausage. Pork belly was pretty tasty except they had only given me like maybe three (smaller) pieces. Toast was flavorless and sad. Mac n cheese was average. I did ask for extra sauces at the drive-thru so I had plenty of those and they also remembered my cherry poppers this time lol. Last but not least, the sweet tea was great! Nothing home to write about but better than average in my experiences.

Day 2 overall rating: 2/5

My wife and I decided to sit down and have supper. Usually we just stop in and grab a sandwich through drive-through but we had more time this time. When we ordered everything seem to be good but when they brought the food it was just disappointing. The portions have gotten very small On the two meat deal. My serving of brisket literally look like a sample at Sam’s Club. My wife had the same but hers was a little more. I asked The server if there is a reason the brisket is serve cold But he said there shouldn’t be, and he took it back. When he came back with it, it was the exact same brisket, but just microwaved. Needless to say, I wasn’t very impressed with that. I thought they’d replace it altogether not just warm it up in a microwave. My wife serving was dry. She couldn’t finish it so I had to put a ton of barbecue sauce on it too moistened it up. I usually don’t have a problem with their sandwiches. But with what we pay and what we got. I just was left disappointed. It really felt like a leftover barbecue from the night before. Just heated up in a...
