For the last few weeks, I was contemplating about this review. But, when you have three back to back unpleasant experiences, it speaks volumes about the business and the people in charge. I understand that effects of the pandemic have played a toll on peoples emotions but, the employees (or at-least a few that I dealt with) seem to have attitudes not fit for retail. My first time in the store a few months ago resulted in being yelled at rudely by a lady when I asked if she could help me find a product. Without taking the time to ask me about what I was looking for, her "automated" loud and rude response was "what we have out is what is available" She did not let me complete my sentence or make an effort to find out what was it that I needed help finding. So, thereafter, I decided to continue purchasing online and choosing curbside pickup. When I got there, the lady at the curb side expected me to tell her exactly what I had ordered which I did but for one item that escaped my mind. She verified my ID and yet, proceeded to tell me that she would let me have the items but in the future, I am to know exactly what is in my order. A few weeks later, I called the store to be transferred to the hair salon to get some questions answered since I have never used their services. The person on the phone was one of the most judgemental and condescending person. She assumed that I must be looking for "cheaper" options and proceeded to offer me suggestions in town that maybe in her words" cheaper than ulta" Mind you, not once in that conversation did I bring up a budget or ask for cheaper options. I was explaining to her that I needed help with my hair cut and color and she from get go assumed that since I had not tried the Ulta hair salon, I must be shopping around for "cheaper" options. Also, there is nothing wrong with wanting cheaper options, but that was not for her to decide unless I precisely asked for such suggestions.
It is safe to assume from other reviews of Ulta in Lubbock that the culture in there is consistent with "judgemental" and ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went in yesterday and Iām pretty used to the employees being a little rude but this time it was a bit much. I went in and they had moved the store around so I asked where the Tarte stuff was. An employee did usher me that way but after that my experience turned a little sour. I was waiting to get checked out and only one register was open and Iām not too sure what was going on but the transaction their was taking a while. So there is no clear line area so Iām waiting by the register area for a few minutes while 3 employees are behind the register area and one management looking lady too that was just watching the other two employees. So then another customer shows up and asks that management looking lady where the line starts and she points and rudely snaps at the customer saying the line started over there where she pointed. It was bad enough that the customer exclaimed to me and her husband I believe ādid you see her snap at me?ā. Well yes I did see her snap at her. Iām still waiting and finally another register opens and someone checks me out. Before leaving I ask the employee if she knew where I could get some makeup remover for the swatches of testers I had on my hand. She vaguely pointed to where I was supposed to go. So I head in that genera direction where I encountered some employees sitting around and I asked them where I could get some makeup remover for the swatches. Some of the employees looked back at me rather rudely like I had interrupted something before one of them went and got me some makeup remover. I think this snobbishness needs to stop at this store. It makes people not want to return. I am a diamond member at Ulta and I probably will just be buying online if I can help it because the bad experiences at this store are outweighing the good ones. UPDATE: I recently went in and I had a much better experience. I had to return an online order and they were very helpful and I didnāt experience anyone being rude or snobby so that was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe absolute worst workers there. My sister and I went to buy a bath sponge. And a little earlier, when we walked in, she saw a makeup pallete that she was going to take a picture of to send to my mom so she could add it to her Christmas list. The sponges were buy one get one 50% off so she bought me one too and told me to go pay for it while she went to take a picture of the pallete. My sister went and then decided to come and show me which one she wanted then she saw that I had already gotten in line at the register so she put the pallete down and came to where I was. Im in line and I pay for it then my sister comes up behind me and tells me never mind they're too expensive. Then all of a sudden one of the workers asked her what she did with the pallete in her hand. My sister replies and points I put it down over there. And one of the workers says "I'LL GO CHECK" and she never does. They basically were pushing her into a corner questioning where she put it and if they could check her bag. My sister again says "I put it over there go look". And the woman says "no you didn't because it's not there. I need to look in your bag" My sister says "No you may not." Then I step in and say "This is ridiculous. Check your freakin cameras." And they kept pestering us and following us until we walked out the door. This is not the first time they did this to her. They have done this to my sister before. She has anxiety and sweats when there are many people around then she'll start to shake. Lord knows that store is croweded as heck. It's ridiculous they accused my sister of stealing not once but TWICE. I get it that you're a make-up place and you get stolen from pretty often but that's no excuse to be complete a-holes when you're clearly in the wrong. I'm NEVER going back there! You...
