Golden Corral Buffet & Grill — Restaurant in Lubbock

Golden Corral had great service during the end when we sat down to eat and got a wonderful waitress Ashley she was overall amazing the whole time and made sure everything was good and ready to fill our drinks and get our plates out of our way but Arturo Gonzales a general manager or the owner was not great what so ever, very unprofessional and did not address the situation appropriately when I and my mother had first walked in and got bad service from the lady who asks and serves people drinks. First of all my mother was already having an awful day because of situations with her heart so she was crying and had a shaky voice Because of it so when we showed up all my mom asked for is a glass of water and then she got cut off and didn’t even get to say what other drink she had wanted because the lady had rudely interrupted my mom and said we have water already it’s been sitting out the whole time waiting for people to grab it but we didn’t want one that’s been sitting out we had wanted one fresh cold and with lots of ice because that’s how we like it but she had gone off and went to another worker and switched stations so a different person was waiting on us because we asked for a colder better drink than what was being provided she had an attitude with us and said because we were being rude but that wasn’t the case at all Arturo had taken the original girl that didn’t wanna serve us our drinks anymore aside but at the end when we left she was being all smart and said have a nice day we know she was trying to get us even more irritated with her and how she was acting that’s when we had wanted to talk to the manager the person in charge and got treated disrespectfully and would get interrupted and eyes...

Took family for dinner which was a little after 6 pm. Went to salad bar first and ate that then went to get rest of meal. When we went up to main course area we noticed that there was very few items left on buffet, which was unusual being a buffet. We asked if more would be coming and no one said anything. So we went and asked another employee and they told us tha they were closed for the day, that they closed at 6 pm. We were confused to say the least. Why would our allow someone to come into a buffet after closing and then take all the food off of the buffet. Not sure why that would happen but we talked to the manager and told her our problem and all she said was "well the sign outside says we close at 6". Wow that was not the response we were expecting. We had not seen the sign and not even an apology was given. We said if you closed a 6 why did you take our money and let us think we were going to get full buffet like everyone else. Knowing you were closed already. When we sat down the waitress questioned asked to why she was getting a table when they were closed. She did not say anything to us because she did not want to be rude. She was very nice and did apologize to us for not having all buffet open to us. We also found out that they allowed this to happen to another family. Manager finally said she would refund half of our meals for the ones that did not get full buffet. Never been crazy about this restaurant but my daughter wanted to go there for her birthday and this is what happens. Don't think we will be returning for a while. I came to eat here and the only decent thing that I had was the sprite.... let’s start with the dirty plates and forks, every time I wanted to go and get a new plate I had to dig threw the wet pile of plates and every other plate that I picked up was dirty. And not just a little smudge. I’m talking chunks of food left on the plate. I showed an employee and she didn’t seem to care. Also the forks weren’t any cleaner. Now about the food. The food was not good at all. I tried almost everything out on the buffet and not one thing I put in my mouth was fresh. The food tasted like it’s been sitting out for 2 days under a heat lamp, not even the oranges or pineapples were fresh.... the rolls were hard and cold, the pizza was cold and mushy, the cookies were burnt from being under the heat lamp for so long, the dessert area was just trash, looked like a pig came through and left a mess. And we were not the only people having a bad experience, the people next to us were making the same disgusting faces we were making, and picking through their food. Now the waitress. I had to go out and seek an employee to refill my cup because my waitress was too busy worried about other employees. My table was stacked with dirty dishes of food because none of it was good, but she never came and got my dirty plates or came to ask how I was doing or came to ask for a refill. Absolutely terrible place to eat: Bad food, Bad service, Overpriced(14$ a person), dirty dishes, old food. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND EAT...
