Generally the food is pretty good. So, no problem with the food, for the most part. HOWEVER, I took a nasty fall in the place as a result of some food or something like a lemon peel on the floor, which I stepped on, fell, and hit the floor hard. Apart from one lady who works there, and who brought a container of ice to put on my knee, no other kindness of any sort was extended. My wife and a dinner friends helped me to my feet, when I discovered my knee was injured and could hardly walk. My wife was upset and our friends were also. We finally sat at a table and after 15 minutes of no service our friend had to go over to the waitstaff consisting of 5 or 5 male waiters and ask for a waiter to bring water, menus and silverware. Our waiter along with all the others were busy watching soccer on TV and appeared to be irritated about having to wait on us. After my fall, We were not even offered a round of drinks, a comp meal or anything which is ok, but nobody ever came to ask me if I was ok or needed additional help. So, while the food is consistently average at best, the staff there is less than average and in some cases is downright disrespectful. There are notable exceptions as at least one woman at lunch is very helpful and concerned about service and food quality. I have attempted to contact management via social media and email, but so far no response. I cannot recommend Ike’s as a result of the experience we had there...
Read moreThis is the first time I've been here. My wife has been here a few times with her friends. So she was expecting a better dinner then we had. The steak (Ribeye) was barely warm for some reason. The butter didn't even melt on it. When they brought it. They asked her to cut it and make sure it was to her liking, and it was. When she took a bite it wasn't as warm as you would expect. Plus there was a lot of fat on it. She ate about half of the steak and left the rest. Didn't even take it for our dogs. She ordered side of twice baked potatoes, and they made a mistake and brought her mashed potatoes. No big deal as they fixed it and brought her the ordered potatoes. The thing is they were very salty. It tasted like they put some ranch seasoning in it. The regular mashed potatoes were very good. I had the chicken fajitas. They were fine. My wife gave the steak a 4. I give the fajitas a 6. It might have been just a bad time or something. She felt bad when she told the manager when he came by to ask if everything was ok, doing his rounds. Like I said my wife had been here several times for lunch with her friends, and had good food. Plus the service was great. I looked at the people next to us, and the pizza looked good as did their chicken fried steak. We're thinking of going back and see if it was...
Read moreMy family of 13 went to celebrate a birthday last niht. Our server Misael G. was fantastic from the very start. He communicates well, keeps patrons informed of any delay & is very honest and genuine in his interactions. He was funny & kind and all the lovely traits one would hope to have in a service staff. Aside from some cold potatoes (which was immediately resolved) it was a great dinner!
My family has been to Ike's several times. We have noticed a few complimentary things about them. They seem to have some staff with great longevity at the restaurant. It's very hard right now to hire and keep quality dedicated and hardworking staff at almost any company in Lubbock right now. We have been seeing the same faces for at least 2 years which is awesome! Anothing important thing to mention is when something in our order is incorrect or not quite up to par, the manager always does their best to make it right. (No matter which manager is on staff). I've hear the owner of Ike's also owns a few others in Lubbock, but none have the best...
