J&M BBQ — Restaurant in Lubbock

Delivered via GrubHub. I thought Texas knew how to make good BBQ. I was working. Can't find a decent BBQ place in Lubbock. My wife and I ordered dinner tonight and shared a three-meat plate. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The baked potato was undercooked, and both the pulled pork and brisket lacked flavor and came without any BBQ sauce. We had to use our own sauce, which helped a little, but not much. The baked beans tasted like they came straight from a can—bland and unseasoned. The coleslaw was dry and just as underwhelming. We couldn't even finish our meal. Sadly, this was our first and last time...

I was a little disappointed in the food. I went through the drive-through and ordered chopped brisket with macaroni and cheese. When I got home, the brisket was so fatty. I couldn’t hardly eat it and the macaroni and cheese was so dried out. It was awful. That was my first time ever eating there, and I don’t know that I will go back, say the young girl that helped me at the drive-through window was super sweet and she was a big help as far as trying to figure out what I wanted to order. Had an amazing visit ! At first I didn’t think the location was open but it was ! The servers inside were super sweeet and accommodating, I’m a single mom and one of the servers went out of her way to make my visit with my 4 year old very easy! She gave my daughter a menu and colors even though we weren’t dining in. They also didn’t have the sides I wanted but offered to substitute and offered me their cobbler for the inconvenience.
