Kong's — Restaurant in Lubbock

Beware of the bartender adding her own tip to your bill. She was rude and barely paid attention to me. I purchase three separate drinks and crossed out the tip section and wrote the total dollar amounts ($4, $8, and $14) on the bottom line. I'm looking at my credit card bill and each charge is a dollar higher than what I signed for ($5, $9, $15). Not a huge amount, but it's still illegal and now I have to go out of my way to dispute the charges with my credit card company.

The bouncers will also grab you while walking past you. I felt someone put both hands on either side of my waist from behind and pull me against them. I thought they were just trying to push me out of the way, but he held me against his body for a few seconds too long, so it was clearly intentional. When he let go, I turned around to see who was touching me without my consent and it was a bouncer who worked at the club.

Aside from that, the club smelled gross and was over crowded. I've been to "overcrowded" clubs out in Houston before, but this was ridiculous. You couldn't take a single step in any direction without stepping on someone's toes. The music sucked, or at least the DJ that was there the night I went sucked. I get that it's an EDM club, but playing half of one song and then turning the rest into electro-garbage was annoying after the first half hour of it. There were fog machines pumping constant humidity into the room, which was incredibly tiny. Me and my friend had to keep stepping outside to catch a clean breath because the inside was so badly ventilated.

Me and my friend were so excited to see what the "best" nightclub in Lubbock had to offer. When we left I asked her, "so now that you've seen what Kong's is like, would you come back?" and she said "no" faster than I've ever heard her make a decision before. Neither of us would return....

Kongs has definitely become home over the last few years. the atmosphere is positive and fun, the music is upbeat and makes everyone want to dance, and then there's the awesome arcade games! if you don't like to dance, you can play arcade classics all night. the drinks are cheap and the bartenders know what they're doing, always friendly and giving excellent customer service. they have a regular bar and a cash only bar at the front entrance. the cash only bar serves delicious $5 frozen margaritas or daiquiris, depending on the day, and also they have $1 jell-o shots of all flavors! this place is wonderful, if you haven't been, i'd definitely give it a shot...

This place is awesome!!! Its small but worth being crowded while dancing! No charge to go in, just have to have your ID. You do have to pay for drinks of course but they are at fair prices. It is a arcade old school feel to it. It has awesome techno music that keeps you dancing no matter what!! It gets hot because of the crowd it brings in BUT whats dancing without a little sweat. You have a very random crowd that comes into Kongs but its a awesome one!!! The drinks and shots are awesome, the pricing is awesome, the music is awesome....its a great club in Lubbock!! If you like good beats and none stop dancing then Kongs is...
