This hotel will be hit or miss for you depending on why you're staying there. If you're staying there just as a means to sleep, then you should pick another hotel. The rooms themselves are overpriced for a hotel room alone. You can get a comparable room at pretty much any of the chain hotels for $20-30 less and they will be just as nice as you'll find here. The rooms were very clean and they were as nice as you would find at any of the other chain hotels, they are just overpriced for the number of beds and size beds you get. We paid $150(Plus like $25 in fees/taxes) a night for 2 full size beds which I would typically pay $100-120 for. Also, there was no continental breakfast, you have to pay for breakfast, so add that to the expense as well. Typically a continental style breakfast is included in most hotels.
The rooms were stocked with drinks, snacks, and alcohol, and they were very proud of them... $4 for a canned drink. We didn't consume any of the drinks/snacks in the room, but were still charged $5. I contacted them and told them that was in error and they said they would refund the money. Annoyed with the hassle, but mistakes happen and hopefully it was an honest mistake.
Customer service was extremely nice. We asked them for extra pillows and they had room service bring them to us. The people at the front desk were very nice, even offering a beer(I'm sure that would have been $10) when we checked in. They had valet parking and the guys working the valet would oftentimes open the door for people going to check in. They didn't have much parking directly at the hotel, but they had quite a bit on the street around the hotel. They also had access to an adjacent lot and a parking garage to park(we just parked on the street).
Now, for those that this will be a huge hit for... if you're going on a weekend(Fri-Sun) and you're the type that wants to enjoy some live music and maybe some drinks, this is probably for you. They have a courtyard with a pool, outdoor fireplace, quite a bit of seating, cornhole etc and there were quite a few people out in the courtyard enjoying the music and such. They had a live band Friday night and then another on Saturday(the one on Saturday did shut down early, but I think that was because there was bad weather in the area and the band was outside). There is a restaurant on site at the hotel that we did not try, so not sure how good the restaurant is. The courtyard is the real selling point of this hotel, so if that's something you would enjoy, then this is the hotel for you.
The area the hotel was in seemed fine, there were some homeless people at the corner of the block it's located on, but they didn't bother anyone. There are a couple restaurants within walking distance and a couple tattoo shops as well. The area it was located in seemed kind of deserted though other than the hotel. Maybe it was just because it was a weekend, but it seemed a lot of the buildings around it were maybe vacant shops.
Ultimately, we liked the hotel, but being that we typically book hotels just for sleeping, we would probably go elsewhere. If we were looking for the live band and courtyard and such, we would definitely go...
Read moreInitially. The obscene non refundable pet deposit (Read "fee") put a sour taste in my mouth with this hotel. Its 50 bucks per pet. So don't bring more than one unless the policy gets changed. Not like they gotta replace the carpet, cause there wasn't one. My pets don't shed nor tear things up, so it felt like a money gouge. Although they do provide a pet bag with treats and toys which was really nice. Just to clarify, I have no problem paying a pet fee or deposit, but when its per pet, and they use vague terminology, like non refundable deposit which basically means fee in nicer words, it started to hit a nerve.
Other than that, the service was great and managed to up my view of the hotel. Courtyard was great as well as the bar area, bartender makes great Bloody Marys. Minibar in the room is full of snacks, beer, soda, and mini liquors, prices wernt too terrible either considering the convenience. Robes are terrycloth, priced at about 45$ if you want to buy one from the hotel, they are amazingly comfortable. Checking on the site that made the robes, it isn't to far off from retail. For smokers like myself, its open air in the courtyard just don't go smoking next to a random group, and please, extinguish your ciggs and throw them away at the numerous silver trashcans around, I saw way too many cigg butts on the ground that I tried to help clean up to preserve this freedom we rarely get.
Breakfast, which was 'okay'. Not alot of bang for yer buck. Portions are pretty small, and most of everything is over 10$ 40 dollars for two meals two coffees and an orange juice. Better off eating elsewhere on your way out, for significantly less and better. My critique is the restaurant needs to up the portions with sides, or lower the price. Dinner was great compared to breakfast, the bacon burger came with fries, which would have been blasphemy if it didn't, my wife found it great. The chicken tacos were great but again, going back to the lack of any type of side for the buck. You get three tacos, that's it, they were good, just didn't feel justified by the price without some kind of side.
Be careful with the in room coffee machines, I forgot to mention this to them, so no points off, but check your machines, ours practically exploded from some kind of pressure build up, no damage, we cleaned it up and laid it out in the bathroom so housekeeping staff didn't have to deal with it.
There was an issue at checkout due to an extra food charge, but it was solved quickly and painlessly. Just double check your bill on the way out.
TLDR; All in all I highly recommend this hotel to anyone, just be wary of the per pet deposit, you can easily double your room price if you bring two pets. Two stars off for restaurant inadequacies and the...

THERE WAS SOMEONE ELSE'S BLOOD ON THE SHOWER CURTAIN!!! There was also a bunch of soap scum on the bottom of the shower curtain & in the shower, which means it hasn't been cleaned/changed in a while. If this hasn't been cleaned how can we trust that the rest of the room has been cleaned well? We can't! We then checked the bed thoroughly and noticed spots on the covers and the pillows. The bed fittings were also on upside down, which shows no care when making the bed. Room was nice and surprisingly quite, but after the shower curtain, we were grossed out to sleep there.
While watching TV, the TV would default back to the hotel screen and the volume would get really loud. Quite irritating to be watching something, then have it automatically switch to a super loud hotel screen, and then have to go back and find your show again.
Valet was horrible. We dropped off the car on Saturday night, and the attendant said to call in the morning and they will pull the car up and have it cooled off for us. When we called the next morning, the person at the front desk said the cars were already pulled up front. When we went outside the car was all the way across the parking lot. Even though we only got half of the valet service we still had to pay full price. We were also told that there was no valet on Sunday, the second day we were there. How can you promote valet if it is not always offered? When coming back to the hotel Sunday night, we could not find a parking spot, driving around the hotel multiple times until we found a street spot, which we had to go move later that night, so we didn't get a ticket. When we went in to talk to the front desk about parking, there was no one even there. It wasn’t until we went to the bar that one of the bartenders told us about the parking garage. One of the reasons we stayed at this hotel was for the valet and we were quite disappointed when they said it wasn’t always available, like the website states.
For this to be a Boutique hotel, the experience was not very luxury. Staff was rude and not helpful for our problems if they were even available at all. We had to call for ice, and the front desk said we have some in our freezer, which we did not and were rude about bringing it to us. The freezer also was full of ice build up stuck to the freezer and was...
