Lubbock's Breakfast House & Grill — Restaurant in Lubbock

Wife and I would go to this location at least three times a week seeing as how we would always get decent food and really good service. Becca is absolutely wonderful. Yesterday when we arrived our usual waitress was not present. We were greeted fairly quickly and our orders were taken. We got the food in a decent timely manner. When I am three bites into my meal I am being presented with the bill. A while later my wife starts commenting on how her coffee cup is empty. She spots our waitress at the bar talking to a young man and an older gentleman(the asst manager) so she picks up her cup walks over and asks for a refill. The asst manager takes her cup and refills it. My wife files a complaint with the asst manager who just walked away. A while later (at the end of our meal) our waitress reappears and attempts to give us refills. My wife, who has 7 years of waitressing experience, attempted to give her some friendly advice in which she very rudely replied everyone does it differently. While checking out I was inquiring about when the gm works so I could speak with him. The asst manager comes out and starts talking to me about misunderstanding and crossed lines of communication. There is no misunderstandings or crossed lines of communication. We are the customers she is the waitress her job is to wait on us which she did not do. At this point I told him i still wanted to speak to the gm. Her attitude and service is terrible and so was his. At this point he pulls out his phone and starts texting and tells me fine he will be here tomorrow and so will I. NEVER returning to this place. Stick to the one on University...

I'll keep it short. This place needs to update their menu. Even the Disposable menu they hand out States they have fresh fruit. All I wanted was a waffle with everything on the side. Butter, powdered sugar, whipped cream, and fresh strawberries. I was not trying to be difficult, but when you order food to go it get soggy by the time you get home. I opened my to-go box before I left and the powdered sugar was on the waffle already, which may not seem like that big a deal, but how are you supposed to butter a waffle when the toppings are already on it? And I was given a tiny cup of strawberry puree. When I asked if they had fresh fruit, I was sort of laughed/ sneered at for thinking they would have such a thing. I was told they don't have anything of that sort there and never have. On the menu under the fruity pancake combo, it says the pancakes are topped with fresh blueberry or strawberry and whipped cream. I was also told they had no blueberries. Not to mention, I originally wanted to order the waffle and ice cream which I was told they do not serve ice cream. When the kid at the register went to ring me up, he made the comment that it even rang up as a waffle with ice cream. I'm not from here so I assume this is what the people of Lubbock are used to, but if this was served in Fort Worth, this restaurant wouldn't last a week. Be true to what you offer, and during these times I understand things are going to have to change. So if you do remove something from your menu, be sure to remove it from your disposable one as well. I didn't even eat the waffle. I would have been better off with a bowl of cereal. Complete waste of...

We used to eat there frequently, but after this experience we will never return!

The restaurant itself seemed run down. I can forgive that given the pandemic times we've all struggled through. What I cannot forgive is the overall experience.

After being seated we asked for a bit more time to look over the menu, having not been for a while I was having a hard time deciding. Our waitress seemed to forget we were there. It took her 20 mins to even take our order. When she finally took our order it took an additional hour and one of us checking with another staff member to get our food out.

When our food finally arrived it had clearly been sitting for quite some time as it was all lukewarm-cold. They did not get it right either. My husband should have had cheese which was missing, my bacon should have been well done and was floppy, my eggs were supposed to be soft scrambled I was brought fries eggs and when the scrambled eggs were finally brought they were hard scrambled, none of our toast had butter and there was none on the table, and my kids' pancakes had sat for so long they had become mushy from the strawberries.

Our waitress then passed our table 4 times without even asking how everything had come out, or of we needed anything else. A person I assume was a manager came to our table to clear it, but did not enquire about our experience, or how our food was.
