Pretty much everything people are saying in their reviews are accurate. I think the 1* Star associated ratings are unfair though, as this says this restaurant has no redeeming factors, the worst of the worst. They should realistically probably be 3’s?
Person taking orders is not friendly. Think Seinfeld and the Soup guy. I know, that dates me.
The food is delicious, I’m from Hawaii and this is up there with the best KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) in the Islands. I think this is why people put up with it.
What is KFC? It’s typically a twice fried, fried chicken which gives the exterior batter an extra crispy/crunchy shell that holds up well to sauces. Even take out, stays crunchy after a 20-minute drive home. Their honey bee sauce is excellent, it tastes like a sweet hot teriyaki glaze. We also tried the Cajun.
Wait was long but it’s because they only have 2 cooks and one order taker and most orders seem to be call ins to cut down on the in restaurant wait time of around 30+ minutes. The kitchen equipment and cooks are going full bore all the time. So while they don’t seem at capacity by looking around the dining room, (which is somewhat busy), the call in orders seem to be doubling/tripling the amount of food being produced.
In all fairness to the order taker, he both takes orders and then goes to the back to help expedite orders and help the cooks. He never stops moving. He is workin his proverbial A$$ off. I think he comes across more rude than he may actually be, it could be a cultural thing. He’ll hopefully settle more into our West Texas friendliness over time, once he can come up...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped by for supper yesterday. Usually it’s a good experience. But this time I had the 3 drumsticks and my wife had the wings. We knew the wait time would be awhile because it’s all made fresh. Which we expected but what got me was my food came out first. After waiting 20 minutes I got up to ask when the wings would be done. They said another 5 to 10 minutes. I asked why they didn’t come out together and she just told me that different things take different times to cook. Which I could understand but I asked why would 3 big drumsticks cook faster than 5 small wings. She just kept saying, I don’t know what to tell you they just take different times. That they served me so it wouldn’t get cold. But like explained, it’s still going to get cold because I’m not going to eat in front of my wife while she just sits with nothing. Well finally after another 10 minutes the cashier with green hair rudely came to drop off the wings. No apology, no enjoy your meal. Nothing. I honestly think they lost or forgot my wife’s meal then tried to hurry up and make it. But the way they handled it like we weren’t supposed to ask how much longer or something. They need to work on their customer...
Read moreI’ve eaten here several times over the last 2 years or so. It always consistent. Always fresh and hot. Always large wings perfectly cooked. The sauces are all enjoyable. The Korean special is my favorite. Absolutely perfect for wings. Don’t compare it to a chain because it’s just two different animals. Plus, it’s beautiful! Simple garnish that goes a long way for presentation. I’d share this food with anyone from special client to a first date. It’s just good food! Now, you will wait. It’s made to order and will take time. They offer multiple online ordering for this and it’s great. I gave 5 stars for atmosphere as the interior is clean and non pretentious. No gimmicks, just great food. The service has always been friendly and and nobody is ever angry in there. Finally the price. Yes, it’s up there. But the value is also there. These are large pieces and never disappoint. Money well spent for best...
