Disappointed with Delivery Experience â Great Staff, But Delivery Was Unacceptable
I truly wanted to support a local business, and the ladies at the store were absolutely wonderful â helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. Unfortunately, my experience was completely soured by the delivery process.
The delivery man, Jeff, entered my home already in a huff, clearly irritated, and gave us attitude from the start. When I calmly asked him not to be disrespectful, he began yelling â in front of my 1-year-old and my babysitter. Completely unprofessional and inappropriate. When I asked for his name to report the incident, he responded with, âYou canât intimidate me.â
It was an upsetting and uncomfortable situation for everyone present. If I hadnât already waited a week for the washer â something I could have gotten faster from a big-box store â I would have asked them to leave and canceled the order on the spot.
My babysitter had recently purchased a washer and dryer from the same store and had a great experience with different delivery staff, so clearly this is not the norm. But Jeffâs behavior was unacceptable, and I highly do not recommend using their delivery service unless this issue...

She lied about delivery schedule to pressure us and another customer in the store to buy quickly (âonly one more delivery slot open- so if you want it this week you should buy nowâ to multiple people who supposedly each took âthe last spotâ). She also talked very highly of a washer which we ended up purchasing only to do our own research to find out itâs really a POS. I would not recommend shopping here.
EDIT TO RESPOND: The âexpeditedâ service visit was almost 2 weeks after the initial call (AKA not expedited, but rather late in my opinion). So the only reason it was not returned sooner is because I mistakingly took Laurenâs advice and waiting for a service visit.
And the washer that Lauren spoke so highly of has a 22/100 rating on Consumer Reports. It is rated so low because of the first hand things that I experiences with it- clothes still dirty and smelly after being washed.
Lastly, I was made to pay a 20% ârestockingâ fee to be able to return to the POS appliance and was met with very poor customer service from Lauren when cordially...

I was arriving in Texas with virtually no furniture or appliances. I quickly found that most of the local stores both large and small, not only had little to nothing in stock, (appliances and furniture), were quoting extremely long delivery lead times (three to six months in some cases), and the customer service was deplorable. Lauren/The Home Zone met almost every single one of my needs, at least half a dozen times in the last two months, it started with an emergency delivery of a refrigerator, delivered upon my arrival into town, followed by two complete bedroom sets, open bookcase, sofa set, coffee table and an end table. ALL of these items were in stock AND were delivered within days of me picking them out! The quality of these items was good.
