There's a time when this there was a time when this place was amazing. He was seeing a large Pit Master controlling his kitchen ever so well seeing brisket after brisket going and going being cut perfectly and exactly as the customer ordered. Today I lost that notion. I was overwhelmed with the youth that were cutting my meat and preparing my food as they didn't weigh anything as they were preparing my food. I walked into no line and it took over 30 minutes in order to complete my order. Unfortunately they're training that they just received at some point this month I'm guessing didn't include what exactly was the burnt end. This is Texas. BBQ Pitmasters has become popular two years ago and we now have two world-class BBQ joints in town. The shack and Evie Mae's. They both are amazing and they both know what burnt ends are. Why is the franchise version of BBQ unaware of this amazing piece of meat instead I see them throwing it away. And when I asked for them to make it for me they have no idea and say that they are not supposed to and they can't. Instead I get pieces of the meat that have the seasoning on it and shaved off the side with no meat so I got the skin essentially. I miss the older BBQ Pitmasters at rudys they were so amazing and they've been there for years. What happened to them? If they wanted more money y'all should have paid them. I'm not trying to be rude to these young Pitmasters because I know you got to start somewhere but start somewhere with some experience someone who's in aged Pitmaster not someone who doesn't know what they're doing. This is ruined my experience for rudys he couldn't handle more than one order at a time. Now as I suggest to you as a local guide please go to other BBQ Pit joints such as the shack and Evie Mae's as they sell out of their food and they have amazing food all the time in their qualities exact same all the time they never lose a step and they're always the same. The problem with rudys is the inconsistency. Their managers are now taking the actions of what twisted root Burgers and West crust pizza did and start cutting Corners like shady businessman. One of the cashiers told the lady next to me were only supposed to give you one sauce packet per sandwich. Have you eaten a sandwich with one sauce packet?! You have dry meat from all your reviews yet you don't give more than one. Stop cutting corners or we the people of lubbock will have to cut your sales because quality barbecue isn't hard to find. It's just up to you whether or not you...
Read moreRudy’s is literally the best bbq in town. Their meats are juicy and have lots of flavor best potato salad too ! Now before I start let me say I have NEVER Had any issues with any of the food or the workers everyone so far had been very lively and efficient, but the Lady over the phone today was rude. She apparently thinks I don’t know how to order food for me and my boyfriend and started asking me all kinds of questions like “ how many are feeding , If I think we need that much meat , if I was going to eat any later or something & ect . and tried to make me change my order to a smaller amount . It was quite rude if you ask me . I’m not sure what her name is but I think I am more than capable of knowing how much food I want to order for myself . Never had any issues with anyone telling me I was ordering too much food . (four sausage links & two orders of ribs ) I don’t think any boss wants someone that’s going to tell their guests to down size the food they’re ordering and paying for with their own...
Read moreWe can never go wrong with Rudy's! We get this every time we can (We are from several hundred miles away), and we always leave with bottled Rudy's Sause for home. We'd found a Rudy's at Panama City Beach a couple of years ago while vacationing there with family. We got them hooked on Rudy's, too, but when they went back this year, it was closed, unfortunately. But this particular location at Lubbock never disappoints. Always clean, always friendly staff, and always great-tasting and great-quality of food. We've always eaten in, but today got food to take back to our hotel (we normally bring our rv, but chose to leave it over near Dallas this time) since our doggo was waiting in the vehicle while we fetched lunch.
I had a brisket and turkey sandwich, hubby had a brisket and pulled pork sandwich (on toasted buns!). And to share, we ordered a jalapeno cheddar sausage link, potato salad, three bean salad, and creamed corn. Everything was delicious as always. Even Arya loved the tastes she got from my turkey. She even...
