Whataburger — Restaurant in Lubbock

I just got out of jail and was hungry. I had no car so I road my bike here. I was refused service with the reason being stated, " I am sorry we are not currrently acceptiing outside orders, we have a big order for Texas Tech. You can come back in 20 mins.". I arrived 6:25 AM so nothing else around me was open. I was not even outside, I was inside so this was an inside order. They were doing an outside order. 1st and last time to try this whataburger. I arrived starving from a diet of jail food. I left with an empty stomach and a bad tast in mouth and hating people just a tad more the3n when I arrived. They also have no drive through. I wouldn't walk into this place to order. You will get turned down. Hopefuly Texas Tech alone places enough orders to keep them busy so they can countinue not to server "Outside order: customer. Less likely to choose Whataburger in general as a late night or early moring food option. If I had back now, I can just get torchies. At least they serve people with a smile. Even customers that come from the outside and I can have a whiskey starting the second they open at 7:00am. I was planing on pigging out. We went into Whataburger today for lunch. We were greeted by the manager who was really kind. The restaurant was very clean and there were plenty of folks working and ready to assist customers. As we walked in the manager gave us a free card to try the pico de gallo hamburger for free. It's a $10 hamburger so I said sure! Thank you. So I ordered my hamburger and fries and a Coke. Then he also asked us if we would like to try the new prickly pear raspberry lemonade. Y'all, this is an upcoming drink that will be sold I believe starting in July. I showed you pictures. However it is so good and refreshing! It has little pieces of chopped up raspberries on the top. It will be perfect for a hot summer West Texas day. I highly recommend this particular Whataburger as they seem to be very focused on how they can serve their customers. Every time I go in there they are customer centered. I placed an order through the app which said the order would be ready in 5-7 minutes. The order was for a patty melt combo and a chicken strip combo but it's Whataburger so I didn't expect the order to actually be ready in 5-7 minutes. I had a drive of 12 minutes to get to the restaurant and I thought that would be ample time from when I placed the order for it to actually be ready. No such luck. We checked in and were told that our order would be right out. 30 minutes went by and I saw 4-5 groups get served before us so I checked on our order and realized that they're forgotten our order and needed to make it all over again. Another 20 minutes went by before they finally brought out our food without so much as an apology. Since we spent an hour waiting for food I figured it would at least be fresh but NO. The fries were lukewarm and the chicken strips were dry, crusty, and SMALL (more like nuggets)! Will not be back to this location and I suggest you guys don't go...
